1.Which designer are you using/used?
2.How much is/was your budget?
3.What colour was your dress - did it match you wedding day colour/theme?
I'm loving Maggie Sottero, Pronuptia and Alfred Angelo..
I'm undecided on the budget... save loads and get the dress of my dreams, get it from eBay, or get a cheap one from Moonson... decisions decisions....
What are/have you lot done?

Thx for all the replies so far! Cheers.
Completely understand what pussytopperfect means! my fiance is expecting me to spend between 700-1500... which i think is such a waste.. If i do get a dress costing that much, i was thinking of getting it 2nd hand of eBay...(and not telling him!!).. is that being tight!?lol We have the money, but i just think its a waste!! The money could be spent other things...

First of all congrats on your up and coming wedding! I too am getting married in july and had the same dilemma, i looked in monsoon and seen a dress that i thought was quite nice for £250, not bad i thought but thought i would have a look around, then my boyfriend said to me "its one of the most if not the most inportant days of your life, dont buy a dress just because the price is right, buy a dress you want, a dress you love, remember all eyes are on the bride and what she is wearing" so with that peice of advice i went to a wedding dress shop and found a dress by benjamin roberts in ivory that i felt wonderful in and so thats what i have picked. It was £980 which is alot more than what i was expecting to pay but i know in my boyfriends eyes i am worth it, i lost all control after picking the dress though and got my wedding shoes as well they were £175 but they are fab, all diamontie so i will be able to wear them again, so just remember its your special day when all eyes are on you, so dont buy a price tag buy a dress you feel a million dollars in and have a fabulous day, good luck! x

Hi, I'm engaged to be married too but we don't have a date yet but i also love the Maggie Sottero Dresses and i would definitely buy one from eBay. Who's going to know if it is second hand if it has been dry cleaned they can look as good as new, and people will think you've spent a fortune.

i have no clue.
but i heard that a local charity shop has a corner dedicated to wedding dresses. so may be a local charity shop has a dress you might like to wear. So may be charity shops near you have them too.
i only suggest this if your budget is limited.
i'm a single guy and to be honest your guy will not care what you wear on the day it is you he is marrying not the dress. you could wear a black bin liner and your guy would still be in love with you.
so don't worry too much. find a dress you like regardless of the price. a wedding dress is only going to be worn once. so spending a fortune on that dress is pointless, better spend a little and save the rest to spend on the honeymoon or later in life. unless you are planning to pass the dress down the family for your daughter and grand daughter to wear for example.
if the dress is just going to gather dust in a closet buy a cheap dress and give it a way after the wedding for someone else to wear.
or better still hire a dress for the day.
just my opinion, as a single 33yr old single guy.

My niece gets married this year and I've enjoyed looking at all the fabulous wedding gowns available. When I got married 30 years ago everything was so plain the boring! However, one thing I've noticed is that you dont have to pay a fortune to get a stunning dress. My niece is paying £550 for a most fantastic dress and I think this is a bargain! Good luck with your dress and arrangements and be happy!

Im ordering mine very soon. I dunno who the designer is off the top of my head but it is french. Its a 2 peice and a very light pink. its very comfortable and lightweight. I tell you something you dont want a heavy dress it becomes very annoying and I struggled to walk in them (but im 5ft4 and quite small). Im doing my theme around the dress so its all gonna be pink lol only problem is Im not sure how im going to match some kilts too it cause I want kilts.
Ebay is brilliant we are going to get our flowers and tiaras and favours from it as they are allot cheaper than bridal shops.
Im going to get a cake made by a family friend who owns a cake shop and have mickey and minnie mouse on the top because we are going to disneyland paris for the honeymoon.
Just realised didnt put the price for the dress lol its just under a thousand pounds but I did see a nice one for £600 and these were from bride shops which are quite expensive. Debenhams, next and asda I think do cheap budget dresses - they are lovely but only in white and im fussy.
Hope me going on ages helped in some way.

My wedding dress was from the venus collection usa brand new from ebay,( but you must put in .com not .co.uk), our wedding budget was £2000. and we had loads left over!
My dress was ivory and with my jewllery, tiara and bridemaids, not forgetting the groom. best men (we had two) and the ushers, who all matched the colour scheme. We went for burgundy gold and ivory (but not OTT) as those are lucky oriental colours symbolising prosperity and luck, although the wedding was traditional.
We got married in a church and held the reception in a marquee...shop around. People who pay 8k or 12k for their wedding are being ripped off. We also has all the usual, sit down meal, photographer, videographer, entertainment and fireworks.....dont be ripped off.

How approximately any clothier gown - you ought to attempt Selfridges, Debenhams, domicile of Fraser etc? Monsoon carry out a little impressive clothing and that i think of better ASDA shops now do wedding ceremony clothing too, besides as BHS who've an particularly functional and notably great variety. you ought to prefer to contemplate clothing from wedding ceremony gown shops that are in the sale too - the fees can each and every so often be very much decreased. yet another selection is to purchase a bridesmaid gown - they are much extra less expensive yet you won't get them in white. shop around. enable your self adequate time so which you don't get too under pressure. in keeping with hazard set aside an afternoon to shop at one city/city and then do the comparable some situations extra in distinctive places. Be adventurous and attempt shops you does not in many situations shop in and don't overlook you are able to look on line too. stable good fortune, i'm hoping you stumble on the appropriate gown.

I am in the USA but my dress is 650 which is like 325 Euros right now.... I bought my dress on the clearance rack at David's Bridal. My though was.... why spend $1,000 on a dress you wear one... If I was going to spend that kinda cash... I would buy a Chanel suit!! I tried eBay but they didn't have any in my size because I am 14/16...... or I would have bough on there... You can get dresses dirty cheap on there!! Buy a used one and just get it cleaned!!

I'm getting married in June and my dress is by Trudy Lee
http://www.trudylee.co.uk/pages/48208.html
It cost me £735 - I didn't really have a budget as I had no idea what these dresses cost.
My dress is in ivory - the picture above is white. I'm having burnt orange bridesmaids with ivory & orange calla lillies.
I reckon you'll just have to look about and see what's out there. Good luck!!

I got mine on ebay, it wasnt second hand, the lady was no longer getting married, the dress had cost her £2000 and i got it for £200 brand new so its definatly worth keeping an eye out for things like that as they do many designer dresses. I spent months and months searching for the perfect one as i wanted baby pink and hardly anywhere did my dream one, just persevere and you'll find your dream dress in the end. good luck!!!!
