I am going to my home town to look for wedding locations this weekend. I would also like to find a list of questions to ask the caterer, dj, and wedding site location. 10 point for the best answer.

My fiancee is an alcoholic. Were getting married in August.
Obviously he cant drink, and whilst I love love 1 or 2 glasses on my big day...im not obessesive. I worried that if we have a complete teetotal wedding people leave the reception very quickly to get to the pub!
Im not comfortable about having alcohol their as i think it would only be rubbing salt in his wounds.....any idea's?

I am not having shower and I think it is tacky to include the registry card in with the inviation. So can I put a card 2x2 white card that says "Please visit our wedding website" in with the invitation. That way people will know where we are registered and they can view our information, maps, etc. or would this as well be tacky?

My best friend (the bride) is living in Houston, Texas and planning the wedding in Austin. I am currently living in Biloxi, Mississippi and moving to Maine next month. The wedding is a year away, but I want to be sure I am still super helpful in whatever she needs. Any recommendations?

My fiance and I are writing our own vows to each other at the end of the ceremony. I thought this would be a really easy thing to do since there are honestly so many wonderful things about him and our relationship, but everytime I sit down with a pen and paper I completely blank! How do they begin, what do you normally say in there, can you be a little humorous?

Please help!

Ok, my american fiance asked me to marry him. Our wedding is programmed to happen there. i know the bride's family is the one in charge of most of the expenses. But my doubt is.... not all of my family will be able to go cuz they doesnt have a visa to travel. the only ones attending are my mom/husband, two of my brothers & some relatives2 . I know, its sad bc my family is super big and like from more than 70 ppl just like 10 will assist. Otherwise, my mother in law is the one getting in charge with the expenses. I told my bf i would not accept that even if its super nice. his dad already gave us an apartment. i mean.... his family is being super nice with us. Not just that, my bf told me more than 100 ppl prolly will attend our wedding.

is this right from his family making all this?

I understand that they wanna help cuz they know my family is not rich and idont have enough money too.. Plus his family lovess super big partys.

it is right to accept all this??? Whats the best?

that did the proposing? Does anyone know how or why this is the tradition typicially? (I'm well aware that nowadays weddings are paid for by both sides or by the couple themselves, so you don't have to tell me that). I'm just talking about the old tradition. If it's the man that proposes, why then is it that it's the woman's parents that pay the bill? That seems weird to me. I would think if a man wants to marry me and he asks me then he should pay or his family should pay. Traditionally speaking, I mean. Just wondering your thoughts.

I'd like to use real flowers, mostly. My main color right now is a wine/burgundy color but I am open to using other colors in my arrangements. I'm not sure what flowers are in season at that time. I don't want to spend a large amount of $ on flowers and am not afraid of keeping arrangements simple. I just need suggestions on flowers, colors and ways I should consider arranging them.

Thanks!!

I am getting married in June and will be having two readings. I got a book with all suggested stuff from the priest, but I was hoping for something slightly different. Though I love the "Love is..." it seems it is read at every wedding. I am leaning towards the "Water to wine" for my other reading because it suits my life (my parents own and live on a vineyard). But that is another standard reading.

Does anyone have any suggestions? It is a Catholic church/ceremony so it has to either be out of the bible (which they prefer) or approved by the church (which is not impossible, but would take time).

Thanks!

She is moving into a new house in a new subdivision, so there is not much landscape. Actually, there is not even grass yet. So, I thought a tree might be something cool for the new place and it will last forever. I thought a fruit tree would be cool, but if you don't clean it up it may make a mess in the yard. So what do you think? Would you like a tree (fruit or regular) as a wedding gift?? if not, what else should I get her?? I don't want to just get crap on the gift registry, because it's just a bunch of small kitchen stuff, and everyone else is getting that junk anyway.

We are getting married in Vegas. Should we have a small get together in our hotel room for all of the wedding party? My fiances family cannot afford to pay for a dinner, but I thought we could get some wine and snacks and have a toast for the next day-what do you think?
