Baskets are an excellent wedding gift because you can put in a lot of little things people ofter overlook! I would start the basket with a bottle of good champagne and 2 nice (crystal) champagne flutes that they can use for many years. A nice picture frame would be a nice addition, either for their wedding photo or if you have a good picture of them already you can include it. From there you can personalize it, say with a romantic movie like Love Actually, or something that might reflect their first date or when they met. Nowadays its the norm to live together prior to marriage, so a lot of things they'll already have, but you can include some items they might need or want on their honeymoon.

Actually a couple of years ago I learned how to make or mix you could say my own lotion and bath salts and massage oil. Lip balm, bubble bath, body glitter. I made a basket for friends of ours who were getting married with these things in there. I decorated the basket with the color scheme for there wedding and threw in a couple of hand towels and a gift card to victoria secrets.I also make my own incense and candles so I threw some of them in there.

I got a great wedding basket from a friend that had monogrammed towels and washcloths (ina nuetral tone), a bottle of champagne, and bath soaps and salts. Loved it....it was the most thought-out wedding gift we received. Highly-recommended.

You should probably choose a room you want to do it for, and then go into that room of your house and see what is interesting - bathroom - Nice large fluffy towels, hand towels (maybe monogrammed), wash cloths, scented soaps; bedroom, sheets with monogrammed pillowcases, aromatherapy scented candles, a reading lamp (so one person reading doesn't interrpt the sleeping person); kitchen, towels, kitchen wash cloths, various utensils or nice casserole dishes. Have fun with it. Good luck and God Bless.

i would think that homey type items would be good for a wedding basket. You could put wine glasses, nice silverware, decorative hand towls...things of that sort. Those are always nice for new couples who may just be starting a new home.

is it for a female friend? that would help! If it is, this is what I would want in mine: lingerie, massage oils, candles, a "Joy of Cooking" cookbook, kitchen towels, something silly like a "Marriage for Dummies" or "Cooking for Dummies" book. Then some other little trinkets that you know would mean something to her, to remind her of your friendship. They need to be things that she will find practical in her marriage and also to remind her of you and the friendship you had and that you will always have even though she's married now.

Put in some candles, look around your house and see some of the things that you like. picture frames, hand towels, things to help to decorate with things that you would not purchase for yourself but would like to have.

all of the ideas are great so far, but I was thinking to make it more personal, you could write a nice card and some recipes that you really like.
Also, some does and don'ts of being happily married *if you are married*
