I guess that would depend on your social strata but for 250K I could have a stupendously wonderful wedding. If you have more than 300 guests in mind though it might be a little thin.

wow! Unless you are a movie star or some kind of millionaire, that is WAY to much. I am spending 10k on mine and that's it. And I am going to have a wonderful ceremony, and I am getting everything I want. You don't have to go that far out of your way (or wallet) to get what you want. How about you spend 15k or 20k and save the rest for a down payment on a home (actually you could almost buy a home with that much) or why don't you do a world tour type of deal for your honeymoon? or Just visit certain countries that you want to see? Honey you don't have to spend that much on a wedding. And do you want me to let you in on a little secret? Your guests won't even know how much you spent, if you do it right! They won't be able to tell the difference between a 15k wedding and a 250k wedding. Also another idea that would help you, is that if money is no object (and obviously it isn't) why don't you just buy what you want for the wedding, and at the end of the wedding, add everything up and I assure you it will defiantly be below 250k. You don't have to waste your money. 250k isn't worth it since it's a one day thing. I hope this helps. Congrats!!

My beautiful outdoors at night/under the stars wedding cost less than 5k. The whole thing, from the dress to the invitations and everything that goes along with it.
You should take the majority of that 250k and buy a house.

With 250K you can have a very nice wedding, go on an amazing vacation and buy a home. So yeah- thats quite enough.

Why would you do that? You can buy a super nice house AND have a very nice wedding for 250k...My wedding (Aug 07) WIll only cose about 5k...I dont want the guilt of putting that much on my mom. That to me is just crazy.

Wow, we're getting married at the busiest season in area (March) and we're doing everything for less than 10k. And we're still having 100+ people.... You could have your wedding, and your honey moon, and put a HUGE downpayment on a house with 250k......

Uhh Yeah! Duh! You could have like 25 really nice weddings with that kind of money! I had a super fun & gorgeous wedding for about $4000! If you have a wedding for $250k there is something wrong with you & you are probably spoiled! Why not spend $10k & have a really nice wedding & save the other $240k for a house or donate some to a charity! I hope this helps! Good Luck :)

Yeah that's more than enough, depending on what you want. You can put together a really nice wedding if you look around and compare prices on everything. Don't settle on the first thing you see just because it's pretty. You may find something better later, and if not, that first thing will most likely still be there.

Oh my gosh!!! Are you kidding?? Most people I know only spend like 5-10k or so. 250k is a ridiculous amount to spend on ONE DAY!! Spend like 25k and have a fabulous wedding. Use the rest of the money to buy a house, cars, invest, etc! Unless you are a famous, rich person - 250k is WAY too much!!!
