I have been a bridesmaid a dozen times over and I always had to pay for my own hair. I am now a bride and will give my honest opinion. If the bride want the hair done a specific way then she should pay. If nothing was requested and she never said anything about paying then I wouldn't assume that she is going to cover it. I'm not paying for my BM hair because they can wear it however they like but I'm footing the bill for the make up. If you are a bridesmaid then I would think you are good friends, why don't you just ask if you are paying for the final hair do and if not, then I agree with what was said above, just get her a very thoughtful wedding gift.

Dont know where everyone gets that the bride pays for it all....never heard of that and I am OLD lol. If you feel bad, send her the money in a card now with a note that says how excited you were to be getting so close to wedding time and being involved in the wedding, etc. that you forgot. Otherwise, send her a thank you note for paying. The bride does not pay for the dresses. But since you are not certain whats expected this is a great time to sit down with your bride and say.....I want to give you this for the haircut and I also want to ask what is expected for the wedding so that we can both make plans.....Also, the shower expenses and decoration expenses sometimes fall on the bridesmaids....really, its time to find out what she is expecting and have a talk with your own mom so you know how to tactfully agree/disagree with her ideas----she is not thinking straight, she's in LOVE (lol). Keep telling yourself that whenever she has an idea that seems strange and you will still love her the day of h er wedding....whatever you do, have fun.

Well, this is one of those things that it depends who you talk to. As a bride, I am going to tell my bridesmaids where and when I am getting my hair done, if they would like to join me they are more than welcome to; if they have their own salon/hair stylist they can go where they're comfortable (if they want to do it on their own, that's cool too). I have five bridesmaids (including my maid of honor) and I could not imagine having to pay for all of them to get their hair done.

However, if I wanted them all to go to MY stylist, or get a certain type of style, I would pay. It wouldn't be right to have them pay for something they may not like.

That being said, if I took them/went with them for a hair trial, if I booked the appointment I would pay. If they booked the appointment and asked me to go along, I would expect them to pay. No way would I make my bridesmaids shell out the extra cash for a simple trial!

My bridesmaids are paying for their dresses and hair and anything else that they decide to do special for the day. If there is a certain place that you are making them go, or a certain that you are making them do then yes, the bride should foot the bill

The bride pays for everything, if i was asked to be bridesmaid and had to pay for anything i would be declining the offer, she is the one gettin married so its her day her bills, A bride once posted a question on here asking should she make her bridesmaid pay for her own shoes and she got slated for it so dont be offering to pay for anything, im gettin married in Oct and my bridesmaid (my sister) was in a bad accident last year so we had to postpone the wedding it was suppose to be last Oct and she had lost so much weight since the accident her dress doesn' fit her anymore, I have to get her a new one and I wouldn't dream of asking her to pay for the new dress even though she has offered to, its my day so i have to foot the bill for everything

I am paying for mine... it's really up to the bride.... I am making it part of their gift!! I have never heard of a bridesmaid getting a hair trial though....... I would assume the bride would cover that...

If your being really picky about the way her hair is getting done and you want it done by a certain person, then yes you should pay for it. But if your letting her do her own thing and your not complaining about it then she can pay for it herself. My bridesmaids are paying for their own hair. I don't care which style they pick as long as they feel comfortable that day is what matters to me.

If the bride is requiring the bridsmaids to get a salon 'do, then by etiquette the bride must pick up the costs.

If you decide on your own that you want something done at the salon, then it's your expense.

Why dont you offer to do some running round for her or just say you was thinking that was a lot of money for you to pay for me to have my hair done can i make a contribution towards the cost.
