Not a question you can really ask others you are friendly with. Presume all over Scotland it is the same for wedding mass or service as in you pay everything else related to the church ceremony but you give the priest a donation. Certainly around here they never request a set amount. What sort of sum are we talking about? Please no answers regarding other faiths or countries. Thank you.

This morning my Dad found out that his only niece was getting married for the second time and he has not been ask to go.
When she was little my Dad treated her as his daughter as her real Dad wasn't around, and he worship the ground she walks on. When her first married broke up my Dad expressed concern about her new partner(like most Dad like figures do) but in fairness gave him a chance.
Her mother, my dad's sister died a few years ago and we all think that his other sister has something to do with the fact my dad hasn't been intivted , yet all her friends have.

What do you think I should do?

As the maid of honor, I am planning a wine and cheese bridal shower for my sister. I want it to be very classy. It will be around 7pm during the month of July. Any suggestions on themes or cute poems to put on the invitation to make it clear it is not the traditional bridal shower but it will be a blast?

We’re trying to plan our ceremony & what we would like to have in it. Our preacher is open to ideas, as most ceremonies he has done have been very religious. Ours is not that way since I’m not a religious person. So we are all looking for something to add to the ceremony so it doesn’t pass by in a flash & doesn’t seem to plain.

Does anyone have any suggested readings or any links to sites where I can find good readings to use in our ceremony?

Did you do it for love, pregnancy, because of pressure? Please state why you married, are you happy, and what is the difference from just dating or living as married? I am doing research for a paper and I also am interested to hear the response. Thanks!

My son is in the National Guard and was advised recently that his unit is on alert. They were advised that the window for deployment "could" be from 5/30/07 - 07/30/07. He and his fiancee had already set their wedding date for August '07. I strongly urged them to move it up and they are adament to be married should he be deployed. Being an Marine brat myself, I know that you are at the military's mercy when it comes to these situations. Trying not to sound impartial here, I think its the fiancee that seems determined to have the wedding of their dreams. They make every excuse not to move it up. At this time, the only money that has been put out is for all the dresses of the bridal party. No deposits have been put out yet. Reception hall has been booked but no money down yet. It is so frustrating to watch all this going on. Apparently her parents are very religious and their only solution is to pray. What is your opinion? Those from military personnel in particular.

I met a girl about 7 months ago and we became good friends and about 3 months after we met she and her boyfriend got engaged...

and she asked me to be one of the bridesmaids...

I think she just asked me because she didn't want me to feel left out...which is fine...and we're good friends and get along well...but I don't really actually want to be a bridesmaid...i feel really bad about feeling this way, because I like being her friend and I'd really love to be at the wedding and see her get married, but I just don't want to be a bridesmaid...!!!

Should I just suck it in, and go through with it...after all it's only one day!...or how do I tell her how I feel without hurting her feelings...

Hi, im getting married this year and i was looking on the internet for wedding cakes and im wanting chocolate and i found various ones I like that where stacked on top of each other. So i rang the lady to find out weather she can make a chocolate cke that is stacked and she said there is no way she can do it bacause its sponge. So that put my plan of having the wedding cake i wanted out of the window. So i went through my wedding book and found another place that makes wedding cakes but it aint buy us. anyways i went on there website and found stacked chocolate wedding cakes, So I rang the place and asked them if the could do a chcolate cake stacked on each other and the said tes of course, So why is the other lady saying she cant and the other place can ? Does anyone know how they do it or do you need something to make it not sink. Just so i can tell the other woman its possible.

My boyfriend and I are both 19. He's been living on his own since he was 18. We've talked about marriage and we do at some point in time want to get married. I know we're both too young to get married now, but do you think that 20-21 is too young to be engaged? He's matured a lot because he's been on his own and I just know we're going to be together forever anyways. I've just seen so many marriages fail and I don't want that to ever happen to us. So what do you think is a good age to be engaged and getting married?

The groom doesn't give them attention everyday or doesn't call everyday. They are jealous of our relationship and the realtionship with my family. Which I see once every month or so. The in-laws live four doors down. Mother and sister in-law have some depression/ lonely issues with life and keep nagging on the groom. The father in-law was on the grooms side but now switched over to the mother and sisters side. They are mad we are getting married away also and they cancelled going with us. They said that we should of had it here and paid for it our self and if we couldn't afford it then we could of had a wedding and not a reception. We are marrying all-inclusive and the wedding, reception, and honeymoon is all in one for us. It was more affordable. Help! My in-laws are so needy, naggy, and said since they are not going to the wedding they would understand if we never talked to them again, but that is our choice what we do. The mother in law did this with every past girlfriend
