There are some really wonderful beaches in the San Diego area; Mission Bay, La Jolla, and Del Mar.

I might be biased but Northern California has some BEAUTIFUL beaches. I don't know about websites, but try researching Bolinas, Bodega Bay, or Dillon Beach. They're all gorgeous and right around San Francisco.
