than the actual marriage itself and getting prepared ?
I can't for the life of me figure out why people are going into all this debt or their parents are for a ceremony that last 10 t 15 minutes than have a big party afterwards when most of these marriages that had 20k weddings will end in divorce since the divorce rate is over 50 percent.

I know everyone wants a fairytale wedding, the wedding doesnt matter if the marriage isn't prepared or strong.

I got married on the beach, 40.00 wedding dress( still elegant and beautiful), 5.00 shoes from kmart, hubbys suit 80.00, flip flops 2.00 from kmart. Buffett at local restuarant 3.50 per person.

been married going on 15 yrs.

Dont say ugly hateful things, im just curious how much time have these brides to be or grooms to be have spent on getting ready for the actual marriage, cause living together is just playing house, once you are married cosmic forces changes things, lol

your views ?

I've got a handful of kids coming to my wedding. Most are well behaved, a couple I have worries about. So I've actually thought about ways to keep them busy. I mean lets face it, weddings can be boring for adults, I couldn't imagine being 5 & having to sit through one. So I thought about making little goody bags for kids, stuff to keep them entertained during the wedding so they are more likely to at least sit somewhat still.

Have you ever seen this done? Any suggestions as to what I can put in them? Only thing I can come up with are crayons & a coloring book. Any other ideas? All the kids coming are under 5, the youngest is a nephew who is almost 2.

I am having my wedding at a mission style hotel and courtyard. What kind of favors would stay with that kind of atmosphere? Were mexican, and the wedding would be in the spring. Must be reasonable in price, were on a tight budget.

Just curious about who is allowing kids at their wedding. My two will be in the wedding, so when my cousin asked me, I told her it was her decision about bringing hers, and reminded her there will be alot of alcohol. She said she had no one else, since the whole family will be there. Anyone else having this dilemma?

would you address it Mr and Mrs. John Doe or Mr John Does and Mrs. Jane Doe? or just John and Jane Doe? and if someone has kept their maiden name Would it be Mr. John Doe and Mrs. Jane Smith?
oh, and i'll probably be putting Lord and Lady instead of Mr and Mrs (medieval theme)

Things have been really stressful in the past 3 weeks with the planning of the wedding. We got a final bill today for our reception site, with all the food, alcohol, etc, and it's massive. We're paying for it ourselves as well. I got the fax at work this afternoon, and I got a headache right away, and I'm sick too. So I wasn't in a good mood when I talked to him about it. While talking about the alcohol being served (we are also providing a few bottles of wine at each table), we got on talking about using wine to toast with. He said that he would be toasting with beer of all things. I thought he was kidding, but nope. He said it didn't make a difference, I said it was trashy, and it ended with me saying that he didn't care about the wedding. I mean, I've calmed down a bit now, but I still think it's a trashy thing to do! Have him toast US at our WEDDING with beer? Am I wrong here? I asked him why, he had no real answer, I know its not his favourite, but just a sip @#$%!!!

It's been 6 months since our wedding and I feel so bad that we haven't sent out our thank you cards yet. We've since moved and found out we're having a baby, so it's been busy to say the least! I'd love to share the news, but don't want it to sound like an excuse either. What's the right way to handle this? TIA

I have seen a few good ideas but mostly all I see on websites is something super insane like that nut lady at the grammy's with weeds in her hair.

At first my family was totaly against me getting married because I was only 18 when I got engaged. But my fiance and I have been together for 2yrs. this spring and are wanting to get married in the summer of 2008. So we will be together plently long enough, but they still don't want to help. And it's not that they don't like my fiance. They think he's great. It makes me feel just miserable. My mom doesn't want to talk about it or anything. My grandpa (who was my legal guardian growing up), it's not something to even mention with him. He says that it cost too much and that we can't handle it. Jon and I have been living out on our own since June 2006. His parent's on the other hand, are excited.

I want to have my dog in my wedding ceremony
He's a small dog,5 years old well behaved, and I take him everwhere and dress him everyday ( yes Im that type, hes like my kid). it's been pretty much a given that he would be in the ceremony and go down the isle with my 10yr old ringbearer nephew but now that we are getting closer to the wedding my future husband doesn't want him in the wedding. Ive always pictured my wedding with my dog in it. I have no idea what to do now.

These days when brides and grooms request that their bachelor partys be crazy expensive weekends is it still expected that the bridesmaids and groomsmen are responsibile to split the cost of the brides or grooms fare.?? The bride wants a bachelorette party that will cost us 700$ each just for the weekend. And no Bridezilla doesn't want to hear that money is tight. She wants what she wants. Is this excesive or am I being cheap
