As the maid of honor, I am planning a wine and cheese bridal shower for my sister. I want it to be very classy. It will be around 7pm during the month of July. Any suggestions on themes or cute poems to put on the invitation to make it clear it is not the traditional bridal shower but it will be a blast?

You should think about having a wine tasting instead of just a wine and cheese party. There are a lot of independant wine reps who are more than willing to show up and "educate" everyone at the party about different types/flavors of wines. It would be more fun than having a bunch of people over at your house.

If you're in the right area, you could even hold it at a local winery. They love showing off their products to locals and appreciate the support.

If you go with hiring a wine rep, think about having dessert also ... that way those who might not like cheese can still enjoy the sweets. Have fun!!!

maybe you could have the invites printed on a wine and cheese invitation, the first link below shows what i mean.
or maybe the invitation could be a wine glass, you can buy glass writing pens quite cheaply and the wine glasses can be bought at most discount store like walmart... you could write the details of the night on the glass, which can be then kept as a keepsake.

You can ask guests to bring a bottle or two of their favorite wine, or other relvent accessories.
You could have a simple menu of cheese trays, crackers, dips, fruit, french sticks & miniature quiches are nice.

the second link is to a site that has some lovely worded invites, hope this helps you put a bit.

This sounds like a great idea. For prizes if you are having games, or door prizes, you could use corkscrews and wine stoppers. You could paint a flower in the bride's colors on wine glasses and have each guest take her wine glass home as a favor.

i think of each physique has some great strategies, as nicely do no longer forget approximately approximately nutrition. while human beings bypass to a bath they dont purely decide to drink and consume cookies and cake. I advise doing different trays of finger meals, even shushi would be very cosmopolitan. do some that are no longer uncooked fish for the folk who dont like that kind of element. hire a nail filing pedicure guy or woman to come back and supply mani pedis on the party, they have human beings (reckoning on the place you're) that deliver a van and set up little mini spas

Have a Paris theme! (The city, not the overexposed celebrity)
Do everthing in a chocolate brown and pink color scheme.
Serve not only wine, but cosmos too
Have a manicurist come and do French manicures
Do the invites in French with the English translation underneath
Some kind of Poodle goodie bag with decedant chocolates

Wine and cheese sounds like a French bistro to me. You could do tons with that theme!

definitely try to have it outside...hopefully it won't be too muggy. look online for cute invitations that have wine themes. if there isn't going to be a lot of people (and you have nice handwriting), you might want to handwrite the invites on good, classic paper to make it a bit more personal.
