I just posted a question about having kids at my wedding and I got ALOT of crap for it.

1. I was told I my sisters and brothers and so fourth would be uspet with me. I posted in the originaly question that those kids are obviously invited.

2. I was told "its his wedding too", I understand that. So far he has decided on a big wedding (I want Vegas), he wants everyone and their mothers there (I want immediate family only), he wont budge on location and this is the only request I am asking for. Yeah so its a big one, but its the only one!

3. I kept being told that parents will watch their kids. No they wont! We just had Thanksgiving with them and those kids were in my boyfriends rooms spilling their food, jumping on the beds, 4 year olds taking care of 2 year olds, walking on the sofas. Kids dont care about ceremonies.

I just dont understand why some people cant be reasonable about this.

My friend is getting married soon, and he and his fiance are trying to figure out whether or not to provide an open bar and/or serve wine with dinner as an option. His fiance does not drink for religious reasons, and he doesn't drink mostly because he doesn't like it. She would like to NOT serve alcohol at the wedding. No one on her side of the family drinks. He doesn't really care either way, though most of his family DOES enjoy drinking. And most of their friends enjoy wine with meals. Luckily, no raging alcoholics among the crowd...

So here is their question (and kinda mine, out of curiousity) : Will guests who drink expect wine or a bar at the wedding? Is it rude not to have alcohol available just because the groom and bride don't drink? The bride is worried what people from her church will think if there is wine or a bar. Groom is worried of offending family.

We broke up a few months ago, we were dating for several years. I recently went out on ONE date that ended with a kiss on the cheek, I only told him because he asked me to tell him if and when that time came. I ended the relationship. I am happy with my decision, he was and still is very good to me but his family is added stress in my life and he finally is doing something with himself...dont get me wrong he is or was no bum but I feel like I was moving forward and he was staying right there. I feel like we just grew apart. we got a dog, he is with me now, after i told my ex about the date he was obviously hurt and said if i start dating this guy he really doesnt want our dog around him constantly..maybe because he is afraid that our dog will like the other guy more? Thats just it..i dont know what will happen with this new guy...its still fresh...dont even know if there will be another date yet. i dont want to hurt him anymore, but at the same time i want to be single and independent.

3 months ago I told my girlfriend I wanted some time apart because things were moving fast, and we were getting pretty serious. My girlfriend was very upset, but I insisted and we didnt see each other for a month. When I realized how much I loved her I asked her to take me back. At first she was still angry at me, but after a few weeks she finaly took me back.We are happy for the past two months, but last week I asked if she had dated anyone while we were apart - I did not.I found out she not only did date but she even slept with someone she knows from her gym and someone from her work, she says for about 3 weeks she had regular sex .The past few days I have been trying to hold in my jealousy.I know it is my fault and I gave her the freedom, but how do I get rid of my rage without showing it to my girlfriend?I have been asking her details of what happened and we have talked, and i feel i need to know altho its hard. i let her know it is ok to talk about enjoying the sex. am i ok?

We have lived together for 3 years. We have plenty of "Stuff." We think a nice honeymoon is a great gift that we otherwise would not be able to enjoy.

My fiance and I considering sneaking off to the JP and then later having an actual wedding.

If we do that, what is still considered proper and in good taste?

Could we still have an engagement party??

Could we still have a real wedding & reception??

Would we have to apply for another marriage license for the real wedding??

Still have a wedding registry??

Basically.......what can we get away with and what would just be wrong??

He is adamant about having kids at our wedding. We both have a huge family with lots of kids. We made a guest list and there are 45 kids between the ages of 0-13 years old!! I don’t mind not having the kids from my side of the family there (except for my sisters kids and his brothers kids or course), he on the other hand doesn’t want to offend anyone and is insisting on inviting them all. Now don’t get me wrong, I love kids and can’t wait to have some of my own but really, 45 kids!!
He says if I put my foot down and say "No kids" on the invite, his family will hate me (I'm sure he's exaggerating). His family doesn’t seem to understand that kids break things, make a mess, and need to be looked after. I have been arguing this for almost 6 months now, should I give up? Or is there anyone out there who has either convinced someone or has been convinced not to have kids at their wedding? Help me please!!

My best friend is getting married in less than two weeks. The last time I saw her was in late August to meet her fiance. I was invited to the wedding and so I'm planning on going. The thing is I have called her at least five times in the past couple of months and she has not answered. I left messages and have received nothing in return. I even called on her birthday and got no answer. I didn't think anything of it the first few times I called, "maybe I caught her at a bad time." But as the wedding inches closer she still has not returned any of the calls and I'm extremely worried. I don't know where the wedding is being held, I know the city, just not the church.
I'm planning on calling her mother when I get home from work today to verify everything.
My question is: I know that weddings can be a stressful, but is normal to just completely ignore one of your oldest friends?

My boyfriend (fiance) bought me the engagement ring. From my understanding, traditionally I am supposed to buy him his wedding band right? Do I also buy my own wedding band or is he supposed to?

It is a Pallas Athena by Venus...The gown # is hand written and kind of hard to read...but its either 9746 or 974b. It has been discontinued so it is hard to find It has a corset top and the skirt is tulle and very puffy.
If you have any ideas of where to look please let me know!

This dress was actually my senior prom dress. (yeah I know it looks like a wedding dress). I went to prom in that dress with my now fiance. I love the dress a lot and I'm looking to save money and my future mother in law said she would help me alter it into a wedding dress. The problem is I'm not really sure what exactly I want to do with the dress. I want to either hide or get rid of the tulle and add a cathedral train. I'm pretty sure I want to go strapless too. I want to change the dress enough that my fiance won't even recognize it. I'm also thinking that I may be going over my head and should just buy a whole new dress if I can find a relatively inexpensive one. Any suggestions??

I am looking for a location for a small wedding (20-30 people) somewhere in NH. I'm thinking maybe the seacoast area, maybe white mountains, anywhere from say Hampton to Conway. Any good ideas? I also need it to be CHEAP, be able to be outdoors or indoors, it may be early spring. We live in Maine but want to get married in NH so my fiance's Grandmother can marry us there. Somewhere we could have the ceremony and a small reception would be great! PLEASE HELP!

My wedding is going to be in January. According to Californian weather, it's going to POUR~! So I am searching for good indoor places for wedding photoshoot. I booked my ceremony and reception at the church but church has no good places to take nice looking photos.

Does anyone know if I can just go inside a 5 star hotel and take pictures there? Will they ask me to get out? Do people usually have to book it? Thank you!!!
