So my boyfriend and I were talking about engagements. He asked me why should I get a real diamond, why could I not get a cubic zirconia one from Walmart? Why should the size of the ring or if it is real matter if you want to marry the person? If you loved them what they got to propose to you shouldn't matter?

I don't know what to say... but I surely don't want an eight dollar ring... but what gives me the right to get a real one?!

Someone help me figure out a way to have a reason why a real one is what people give... not fake

HELP!

It's for December 31, 2007. I'd prefer a Castle-like theme. Casa Loma is waaaay too expensive. Any other ideas are much appreciated.

I'm sure some do, really, but don't most couples do it just because it's easier than having a wedding? And/or because they think it's romantic? I knew of a few people who really eloped and got married (and their parents pretty much disowned them for it), but most of the time when I hear of people "eloping", they didn't really truly elope... so what's up with that? (Sorry if my question seems dumb.)

I love my fiance so much and I would marry him tomorrow! So, I'm not worried about being married. I want to see all my loved ones on my wedding day, but I'm so afraid something will go wrong like the flowers will go astray or the meal won't taste great or...well you get the idea! How do I chill about the details?

(we have about 2 years left.) I am excited and want to start planning anything and everything. I just am not sure what I can do besides dream and work towards graduation. If anyone has any ideas Id appreciate them....

I'm having a fall wedding with burnt orange as my color. I'm going to use brown as an accent color. However I don't want fall to be my theme (i.e., fall leaves and the fall time, etc) so what are some other ideas that would be good?

The bridesmaid dresses are a plum color and we where wondering if it would be alright if the grooms or even my mothers dress was a purple color also. is that against some etiquette rule somewhere? I'm not sure what is proper etiquette for the mother -of's..

I am planning on getting married in October 2007. My fiance has a very large family and we do not want a large wedding, but we do not want to hurt anyones feelings, so we figured we would have a small wedding w/ immediate family then a large reception. Do you think that would cause problems?

We have been together for 3 years. We both like to drink & have a good time. But the last wedding we went to was a huge disaster. He was completely pis* drunk & ended up doing some things I was very angry & upset about. We have been through alot & have worked through different issues, which I think makes us strong. But the problem is, is he is in the wedding..meaning I will barely see him the entire time. I adore the bride-to-be (one of his close friends) who happened to be at the previous wedding & saw his actions. Now I want to have a good time, but I just can't get that feeling off of my mind that I will be watching him the entire evening, making sure he's not being an idiot. How can I help stop myself from this & just relax when I'm there?

We have been datting for over a year now and was just curious as to other peoples views on this. I want it to be something that she will remember for the rest of her life, something very special to her. I wanted to do it on x-mas or x-mas eve, but I don't think I can wait. Ladies, would it mean more if you were proposed to on either of those 2 days ? And yes, I do have the ring. Thanks for your comments!

I know so many women who went over the top on the wedding spending tens of thousands and for what? One day. It seems that the whole marriage thing is more about the big fairytale day out whatever the cost rather than the actual act of joining with a man in marriage for the rest of their life. There seems to be years of planning for the one day yet little thought beyond the honeymoon, and not long afterwards they realise that they had the big day with the wrong guy, but they were blinded to that fact by the thrill of the wedding planning. Men seem to be passengers in the whole process while the girls get carried away. Couldn't the expense have been better spent for the future, and more though go into why you are doing it in the first place?

I’m looking for ideas for wedding favors for a spring wedding. I don’t want anything edible, wine related, candles or anything you see on most wedding favor sites. I want something that people will hang on to after the wedding as a keepsake.
