.......for my wedding

It's a nice song, I love it too - but the first dance is all about love finally consumated and found, in my opinion...and about starting a new life together.

As rich and as true a sentiment "You've Got A Friend" conveys, I think it sort of misses the mark for a first dance.

Just my opinion, but hope it helps.

Best to you....congratulations on your engagement.

How about ...COULD I HAVE THIS DANCE by anne murray
goes like this
I'll always remember the song they were playin',
The first time we danced and I knew,
As we swayed to the music and held to each other,
I fell in love with you.

Could I have this dance for the rest of my life?
Would you be my partner every night?
When we're together, it feels so right.
Could I have this dance for the rest of my life?

I'll always remember that magic moment,
When I held you close to me.
'Cause we moved together, I knew forever,
You're all I'll ever need

Could I have this dance for the rest of my life?
Would you be my partner every night?
When we're together, it feels so right.
Could I have this dance for the rest of my life?

Repeat Chorus
Ann Murrey . Its an older song but to the point

I think its a wonderful song for a couple's First Dance.

Its been chosen by literally thousands of couples over the years, but most of those people are celebrating their 20th anniversaries now! (LOL)....

Another great First Dance song is "At Last" by Etta James

I think friend is a bit too week for a first dance of the bridal couple. How about Sinatra's Fly me to the Moon?

Peace!

We used this song for our parent/child dance (my husband danced with his mom while I danced with my dad to save time). We liked it for that, but it seems more of a platonic or family kind of love song than a romantic love song. Maybe you should keep looking...there are tons of sites with suggestions for songs...

i'm not too comfortable with your choice... but if the song has special meaning for both of you and there is something in that song which BOTH of you can relate to, then it's a good choice...because the song should be something significant for the couple and what the guests thinks about the song should not matter..

I think it's all about what is important to you and your future husband. Honestly, your husband really won't care what you dance to, so make sure you are happy with your choice.

You could always use it to dance with your dad. My friend danced to Kermit the Frog with her dad =)

I cannot answer this question for you.
If you think this is appropriate, for instance, is this how you met your feonce, through friendship?
If you think it's appropriate, go for it! It's your wedding!
Good luck hun =)
