I'm having a fall wedding with burnt orange as my color. I'm going to use brown as an accent color. However I don't want fall to be my theme (i.e., fall leaves and the fall time, etc) so what are some other ideas that would be good?

What about chocolate as a theme? You could have boxes of chocolate as your centre pieces or a cake stand with chocolates on it. As your place marker you could a a piece of chocolate in the shape of the first initial persons name. Your take home gift could be a magnet that looks like a piece of chocolate with your name and date on it. You could have lots of different chocolates around the room for people to nibble on. You could have a chocolate fountain with fruit as a late night snack. I think the brown of chocolate would look good with the orange.
Good Luck!

It should be whatever you want it to be. And I know you don't want a theme, but the colors are very associated with Fall. Not a thing wrong with that though. It is a bold and unique step away from the usual (It would even be awesome for your flower girl to drop silk fall leaves instead of rose petals). It would be neat to have small floral arragements on the pews (or ends of the chairs near the aisle) with orange, yellow and red flowers. Ivy and pine boughs (even some pinecones) are evergreens that would go good with your colors as well. A nice twisted branch arch would be a refreshing change from the usual gold rental arches most people have. You could also use a brown wooden stand if you are doing a unity candle. Arrangements of red, orange and brown roses could be used for accents. Take a swatch of your two colors to the baker and let them match them for the flowers on the cakes. Congratulations and best wishes to you!

It's a wedding...have it be wedding themed!

Really, unless absolutely every single detail is so obviously part of a "theme", no one is going to notice it at all.

Maybe I just don't understand this whole "theme" thing. I've been to weddings with a fairy tale theme, a western theme, a seashore theme, and you know, they were all just weddings to me. Sure they had a few personal touches, but nothing so unifying and over the top that the "theme" was very obvious.

How about an enchanted forest wedding? I came up with it after thinking Cinderalla and then asking my fiancee who suggested with your colors in mind, a forest. Hope that helps!

So what are you trying to say, you are getting married in the fall, but you don't want it to look like fall.. Lot's of green then I guess, blue to may help.. Or go to the Southern Hemisphere where it is spring.

that sounds like it is the fixings for an oxymoron, burnt orange and brown accents. How much more fall can you get?

Does it have to have a theme? why not just have a style you follow rather than something that risks looking like a fancy dress ball?

How about Harvest? Who says you need a theme anyhow? Just start putting things together the way you like it. If you do not like something get rid of it. I am sure things will come out just the way you want them to.

The halloween theme comes to mind. But then you'd have to have black stuff. Nope, changed my mind. Delete.

this is kind of tough since you are going with some fall colours in falltime. Why not a romantic evening with orange roses, lots of candles, chocolate etc. hope that helps!
