Though its a great idea and alot better than a court, but i get really nervous. I dont like big weddings with alot of people, id much rather it just be me and him and our mediate family and than a big reception. I dont know what to do, i dont want to get so nervous and become the runaway bride..hehe..help me!

My soon-to-be mother-in-law is making my life hell with all these questions about dresses and bridesmaids. I'm trying to get down to a size 18 for my wedding, but I just want to feel like my real self. Does anyone have advice on de-stressing and looking beautiful for a wedding when you're NOT a size 6? It seems like there's no good advice on any of the popular wedding websites (theknot, etc.). HELP!

My boyfriend of one year has told me he wanted to get married but he "wanted to do it right". He wants to buy me an engagement ring and get married soon. But, today I found out I'm getting some unexpected money(a large amount) and could not wait to call him. Well, he busted my bubble when he said, "we can get married really soon then, I can just use that money to buy you a ring". I was shocked, but I told him, if that's how you want it, forget it, the ring is not that important for me to have to buy it. I should explain that we have lived together for 8 mos and I'm divorced from a guy who I had to buy my own engagement ring because he did not have a strong work history and was always working for just temp agencies. since i made more money and wanted one i bought it. but i have always put that on the "list" of stupid things i did i that 2 year marriage. my boyfriend has always been a good provider, but he can be "tight". i feel completely devasted. or maybe i'm just carrying baggage.

We're getting married on February 14th at the local courthouse. Just a tiny ceremony with closest friends and family. We decided to do the whole big thing about a year or two later.
That's when we really want to on a big honeymoon like Hawaii, the Bahamas.....
I want to surprise my hubby-to-be with a romantic getaway after our wedding at the courthouse.
I just want to be alone with him for 2 or 3 nights. Does anybody know a good destination in New Mexico or western Texas, close to El Paso?
I was thinking a romantic hotel or renting a cabin. Not too expensive though!!
Any good ideas?

it seems the norm is for men to get amrried around like 28 or so after they have "tested all the waters". is it wierd to be a guy and just want to be married and skip all that?

does that scare women? (not saying i would just rush into a marriage with the first girl that i see)

What stores will engrave rings that aren't bought from there?
Me and my future husband want to get the same thing engraved on our rings, When I bought his they had the option to engrave his ring so I got it engraved alreadyy but mine didn't have that option so we don't have it engraved yet. The places have to be around sedelia, kansas city, or columbia MO.

I asked her to be my maid of honor and she said would attend only if my fiancee got an annulment. I told her it was unfair and we argued, it got heated and although we apologized to one another have not spoken or contacted each other in months. It is now getting near the time I will be sending invitations. My fiancee did go through with an annulment but I didn't tell my friend, I didn't want her to think that it had anything to do with her because it didn't. My question is after all of this should I still invite her to attend?

Hi folks, I'm starting to look for a ring for my girlfriend. I was wondering, how engagement/wedding rings work? Do people still buy the engagement ring (the one with the rock) and add another smaller ring at wedding or is it now the same ring that is exchanged at both occasion?

My husband and I married twice. Once in December '98 at the Justice of the Peace & then we had a formal ceremony (already planned and paid for at the time we eloped) in June '99. I would like to celebrate my 10 year anniversary and have begun planning, but i'm not sure which date to use. Our true anniversay is in December, but celebrate both dates just the same. I plan something special in Dec. and my husband plans something in June. It's a great system.
On the one hand a winter backdrop would be absolutely gorgeous. And on the other what if people don't have the time because of the holiday season. (Oh, did I mention that my anniversary is Dec. 23rd) Or worse we live in upstate NY what if there is a snow storm. The weather in the summer is so much more predictable and agreeable. I'm so confused, thank goodness I have almost 2 years to figure this all out.
