In my job as a functions waiter, I have attended 48 wedding receptions this year. Most of those receptions had small gifts on the table for female guests only. Of course, I do live in Adelaide where there is a high number of Italian & Greek families, to whom the custom is most common.

Yes. I have at the moment a cork screw (his) and a matching wine bottle stopper (hers) with love hearts on the top from a wine connoisseur friends wedding, little silver heart shaped photo frames, engraved napkin holders.... a girl at work made little shot glasses filled with green m&ms (to match the bridesmaid dresses) I have seen miniature wine bottles with the bride and grooms names too or simply really good choclate tied up in fancy paper. Its a personal choice thing.
