been with partner six years living together last two. I am engaged but he wont buy a ring ok I can live with it. I support myself.. I sold my cottage and everything in it. I am not allowed to change decor o his house . He supports ex wife has done for 27 years. We are going away for a few days to France he says dont buy euros you can ask if you want anything it makes me feel powerfull!!! Twice he hasnt bothered with my birthday ..he went to Madagascar I wasn`t allowed to go.I do everyhting buy food wash cook clean iron.. and I am so far paying for our wedding. His ex..on hearing we are getting married now has cancer he has strarted picking on me. I buy him presents but nothing seems enough. I am still attractive for 53 dark skinned long hair very slim... yet he tells me I have aged...People are shocked when I tell them my age they think I am in my 40s. Somethings wrong.....

When my boyfriend and I get married, we've agreed that it won't be in a church. His parents are very religious (picture of Christ over the bed, Christian gospel is always playing on the radio, etc.).

How should we go about telling them? I'm not so much concerned with them disagreeing with the choice as I am a respectful way to tell them.

(They don't know I'm agnostic. Yet.)

to make a long story short, im gettin married this january. i'm lucky that my gparents are paying a lot to let me and my to be husband have a nice wedding with reception on the water. Blah. So i asked my gpa to walk me down the aisle bc my dad was never there for me..he split whne i was 2 but lingered around from time to time..always tried to "keep intouch" but he did drugs in front of me, etc. i dont want him to walk me down the aisle bc i feel my gpa was more of my father figure and introduced me to God so to speak. Just wondering if that is mean of me. I'll always have respect for my dad cause he brought me here into the world. Just wondering what you think. Thanks!

I'm catholic and my fiancee is a christian. I have problems figuring out how to go about a ceremony. How can we have a beautiful Wedding ceremony, while respecting both our families? This is, not having either a priest or a pastor/minister, but not just signing some papers on a desk. Something symbolic, but that does not compromise either of our backgrounds. I proposed to her the other day and she accepted and now today her father said she will be kicked out of the family if she marries me. I am very well financially, and it maddens me. I dont konw what to do. She wants to marry me but she also wants to keep her family happy. I feel like blowing up. Any advice?

i am so happy with my wife, but when we married she was a virgin for another country, where al girls are virgins on wedding night...and i took my time, and shes always willing to do anything with me i ask her to do, the sex is great on my side, BUT i am sure shes never had an orgasim and i,m running out of things to try to please her as she pleases me...she tells everybody, i am the best husband but i don,t believe i am if i can,t help her to do this...i have in the past with another, but most of my relationships were with those who knew what to do ... am just asking for any suggestions ok...and thank you ...i really want to be the best husband for her...

I allways hear these great ways men have proposed to thier gfs.My bf of 4yrs were talking about buying a house and moving in together.He said "well if we are going to live together i want us to be married so will you marry me" and that was it.I said yes and he said good we will go tomorrow and pick out your ring.No asking my dad,i called my mom but he did not call anyone in his family,there was no going out to diner to celebrate nothing.1yr later im planning the wedding and he wants to keep it as cheap as possible with as few people as we can.I have never been married before,he has and has a 8yr old son with his ex.His divorce(or i should say ex) put him 20k in debt so this is the reason he wants to keep in cheap.I know he has done all this before but this is my first time and i just fell shorted.I fell like he just wants to get it over with and be able to claim married on his taxes again.I do know he put more time planing his 1st marrage.I don't expect a 30k wedding just some interest
