so my boyfriend and are are planning to get married soon, and we moved in together last week. we live about 5 or 7 blocks from HIS parents house and he works alllllll day, morning to night and his mom comes over every day and tells me how im cooking too fatty food and her son is getting fat, and how i need to put my dishes in this cabinet and not in the one i have them in and this and that and aghhhhhh... we arent even married yet, will she get worse when we get married, what can i say to her in a nice way to mind her own business. shes the kind of person who takes things personal... any advice.

I just got engaged, and thus begins the process of planning a wedding. Holy crap.

A lot of the beautiful locations around here have a site rental fee that is more than my car is worth! Seriously, $4k PLUS catering & booze??

I found one or two restaurants with nice surroundings that don't charge a rental fee, just a catering fee. Anyone found places in the Los Angeles area that are inexpensive? I'm open to both off-beat and traditional.

I just got my first piece of my wedding china and I have a china cabnet. It has a small knitch to place the plate straight up to display it and then you just place everything on the glass shelf. I really like how Macy's has the china displayed. Can you buy those plastic display anywhere?

I got engaged in September, when we first got engaged, we hadnt set a date. However, we did like a month later. When we went around telling his family, they didnt seem happy, heck, even his mother asked when it was, and I responded "we havent set a date yet" and she said..."what are you waiting to see if it works out?" I almost died!! Well, since then we have set a date, (in May of 2007) and we have been to several family get togethers and they havent asked me a thing about it. There are 3 sisters. And the mother. Am I wrong wondering why they havent even asked the date, where it is, or who is in it, what colors, if i needed help, I mean they have asked me NOTHING. My fiance and I are almost 40 years old, we are not kids and this really hurts my feelings. They ask me about my job, my son and everything else personal, but never about the wedding. What do I do? Say something, just bring it up on my own? Or ignore it? Help

We're getting married this coming New Year's Eve. She says she will give us 300.00 to help out with the food costs. And now she says she can't help us because she dosent have the money. What makes me more upset is that she has invited 12 people from her job to the wedding. I don't even know who these people are. Would it be wrong for me to say not to invite them now?

In the state of Ohio, do you have to apply for a marriage license in the same county in which the marriage will be taking place? For instance, if your wedding is taking place in Franklin County, do you need to go to the Franklin County Courthouse to get your marriage license or can you get your license from the Delaware County Courthouse?
