Im a virgin and getting married. Im wearing ivory(very lightly colored, actually like a 'candlelight'. It looked better on me that white and I love it. I don't want ppl in my church to think im not a virgin. I know this shouldnt matter, but it does. What do you think?

That's a very good question........I asked things like that about everything, even the songs I was playing (Is the people in the church gonna think bad of me or think that I'm not living my life right?) But you have to just put it all aside and figure out that it's about YOU and you're soon to be husband and YOU know that you are a virgin so it doesn't matter what anyone else thinks. :) Good Luck!!!

No. Color and virginity rarely go together with wedding dress colors now anyway. Many non-virgins wear white.

Ivory is more flattering to most skin tones than a pure white, so I'm sure that the ivory looks beautiful on you.

More ladies today are branching out into wedding gowns with color. If I get married again, I'm wearing red.

It used to be about virginity - but today, brides pick their wedding gown color based on what looks best on them and what their personal preferences are. If you look better in ivory - go for it:) Very few people will take that as a sign of anything.

There are plenty of non virgins who get married in white dresses. White dresses didn't become the thing until just over 100 years ago. Until then you wore your best dress no matter the color. White had nothing to do with virginity either and everything to do with showing off that you could afford a white (impractical) dress for just one occasion.

No it's not bad at all to wear ivory. I feel that you can wear whatever you want to your wedding. People who are close to you will know the "truth" about your virginity anyhow. Try not to worry so much on that thought, you have enough to plan! Congrats

No one really goes by the color anymore. You wear what you want. Do you know how many people who are definitely NOT virgins actually wear white to their weddings. That's an old tradition that was broken years ago. Wear what you want.

The white wedding ceremony gown is surely a variety all started via aristocratic brides to instruct their families' wealth. the 1st individual to positioned on a white wedding ceremony gown became Queen Victoria in the Eighteen Eighties - she could cope with to pay for a luxurious, impractical white gown that could basically be worn one time. different severe-society brides enjoyed the belief and a fashion type took off. It has no longer something to do with virginity - till now Queen Victoria and for many, some years after, brides have been married in the terrific outfits that they owned, regardless of shade they surpassed off to be. So - positioned on regardless of shade you desire. it is your outfit, and that's the only area of the marriage this is one hundred% as much as you.

1. Many gowns give you a pure White or Ivory option anyway. The company I used to work for had that option on EVERY bridal gown.

2. Pure white doesn't look good on all skin tones.

3. Screw what other people say.

It's traditional for girls to wear white on their wedding day, symbolizes their purity (virginity) {even though most girls when they finally get married aren't}, but that was then this is now. Traditions have been lost over the years, these are the modern days wear it, if you like it. Heads up, it's your wedding day.
