This one is kinda tricky -- (1) We have both been married before -so the announcement can not start off with "The parents of DinaJ would like to announce...blablah" I mean I'm 26 and he's 35 so our parents arent announcing anything, we are. lol.
(2) Most engagement anncments end with what date the couple plans on getting married - well... we havent set a date - we're in no hurry to get married- we've joked about getting married in 2010. I mean it doesnt sound really romantic to put in the newspaper "They havent yet set a date".
Can anyone think of a way to word the announcement??Help Please!!!

I'm best friends maid of honer, and I know I pay for my dress and the bachorette party and I'm going halfies with her mom on her bridal shower, plus my daughter is her flower girl which i have to buy her dress. Right there is at least $500. Now she told me as maid of honer I have to buy all the favors and what she wants is another $500. She's alot well off then I am, I'm in college and have 2 kids, is it right for her to tell me I have to pay for the favors too? Plus I'm planning my own wedding for 2008. I don't mind the $500 but $1000 isn't that alot to ask for?

My boyfriend of 2 years says he is in no hurry to ever get married. But that was before he met me. He has mentioned a couple times that if he ever got married I would be the one he would want to marry. He sees me as marriage material. Well, I wasn't in that big of a hurry either.. a year ago. I keep hoping he pops the question soon, even if we just get engaged... that would be enough to hold me for another couple years =) I don't want to tell him I want him to propose b/c that would ruin it, ya know? I need advise on how to plant it in his head and make him think it was his idea... I've hear it's possible, ladies.. help me out! And men, offer any advise you can on this subject please. I would love to hear your side too. Thanks!!

We were planning on doing the traditional bouquet toss/garter thing but when I actually sit down and look at the guest list I only have 2 or 3 single girls and maybe 5 guys (a couple over 50 yrs old) so I think it will be very uncomfortable. We decided to completely cut this out of our reception but I was wondering if anyone has any cute ideas on alternatives. I would still like to do something but I dont know what. Any unique ideas?

Before you say yes!! Read this first!! My big brother getting marriednext year but theres one thing that why should I... Me and my brother never got on and I mean never ever got on. Well a few weeks ago I went to visited my mum and my brother has just arrived home, he didn't come into the living room to say hello to me and my partner, he just went up to his bedroom. A few hours later my younger Brother(my baby) arrived home and came in and said hello and a wee chat (he's shy). He was grateful to put the bed together for us, my big brother was looking for my baby brother and happened to come in the living to look for him and not once he said hello to us. He just lefted the room. He sat in his bedroom till his fiancee collect him. If this was to continue then why should we go to his wedding?! What you think??

My good friend is getting married and since I can't make it to the wedding, I am trying desperately to think of something unique and personal to give her that isn't from her registry. I want to show her that I am thinking about her and I really want to get her something extra nice since I can't be there for her wedding. I'd prefer to buy something online.

Any suggestions?

if a woman proposed to a man, should the man not get the ring? or something? Well the man then when out an got her an engagement ring (seemed to be the right thing to do) however even if hes was or wasn't the one to ask the question, should he get something to mark this special occasion? I've heard things such as a watch or bracelet? Any advice would be welcome...

Me and my fiance are planning on just going to the courthouse and getting the marriage license, exchange vows and done, we'll do the whole ceremony a year later or so.

Anyway i was wondering if a courthouse wedding is the same as regular wedding?!
I mean does the bride still wear a white wedding dress, the groom wears his traditional tuxedo?
Who do you invite to a courthouse wedding? - Parents, sibling, grandparents, best friends?
And do you need witnesses for a courthouse wedding, if yes, how many?

If you got married in a courthouse, tell me your story,
how was it?
How long did it take?
Were you nervous?
Who was there?

Any help would be great!

We're strapped for cash and i didnt know if you have to buy both rings-- im the girl and i dont need both, i'd like it sure but honestly i'd be JUST fine being married to him...so whats the difference between the rings? and when he proposes, can you just keep the ring he gives you until/for the wedding? can he propose with the wedding ring? i know you can do what you want either way, but whats the "right way" to go about this...? what would you do in either situation? (guy or girls point of view)

My friend is getting married soon and her and her fience are not living together until after the wedding so they have a lot of "home" things on the registry. I think they can buy a coffee maker on their own. I want to get them something cool like a gift certificate for couples at a spa. Do you think that's approperiate?
