Sex is never necessary. Meaning that you can live just fine without it. However, sex is a real part of any good marriage and if she doesn't want sex then it will put a real strain on your relationship. You both need counseling and your wife might need medical examination to make sure that there is nothing wrong with her body that makes sex undesireable. If you can live with a celibate marriage, then fine. If not, then divorce might be in the future and then sex becomes a no-no until you remarry somebody else. Chastity outside of marriage and fidelity inside of marriage. That is the rule.

I am trying to understand the actual question....if your wife does not want to have sex then "no"...it's not necessary in the relationship....you didn't marry her for her sex, so if she doesn't want to do anything then don't press the issue. And even after marriage sex is just a way of expressing your love for each other...I would not call it a necessity, but it is highly valued in a relationship. Women get burned out from sex because of stress or mentrual time period ...you will never really know. The best thing to do is to talk to her about it...I am sure that she wants to have sex, but maybe she is having doubts or something.....hope this helps!

Sex is a HUGE part of a healthy marriage!

It strengthens the bond you share and the intimacy needed for a good relationship!

Is there a reason your wife doesn't want sex?

If u don't have sex after you are married (granted, there are other ways to be intimate), chances are you will grow to resent your wife, maybe even have an affair...

Try Marriage counseling... they can help you!

It may not be necessary, but is it what is expected before marriage?

If your wife doesn't allow it, why on earth did she get married? SEX is and can be a very important aspect in a marriage.

Why should you go sexless, because she doesn't allow it? It's time you stepped up to the plate and put the pants on in the family.

It is never necessary to have sex. No one should ever feel obligated. It bothers me that people are expected and pressured to have sex after they're married. Usually they're ready but it seems like a lot of women in particular are not ready. They don't even know anything ABOUT sex.

As a retired lawyer, let me give you a strictly legal answer. If a couple does not engage in sexual intercourse after wedding, the marriage in "not comsummated" which allows for the marriage to be delared "null and void." Therefore, it would be grounds for divorce or annulment.

As a retired social worker, this is a very strange question. I can't tell if either person wants to engage in sex, if only one person wants to, or what. PLEASE SEEK COUNSELING. We don't need another divorce to add to the statistics.

Yes it is absolutely mandatory to have sex atleast once a week. It's called marital commitment. Now, if your wife doesn't allow you at all meaning it's been a month and you haven't have any, unless she have a legit reason, you can write to your congresman... just kidding... talk to your wife about it. Or find it somewhere else. Just dont get busted.

Sex is part of marriage, you have to expect that as such! Why bother to enter into a relationship and then marriage otherwise?
