Did they screw anything up when they did your photos?

$500....we had a very tiny wedding so the photographer didnt charge us as much and we only got a tiny album of 35 pics. (we may get more pictures later and the costs for us will be more) We didnt have a reception for pictures there, and we didnt have an engagement picture done. He also made money on families getting pictures done. (the packages he normally does go from $1200-and up; $500 for just a DVD of pictures since it is digital, and he "says" you cant take pictures off of it)

A lot of our pictures have sunspots/bad shading that were org supposed to be edited for free...now he says that it was our "fault" for having an outdoor wedding so that would happen. (and we have to pay for the editing) Some others have important areas cut off. Our family pictures he was so far back you can't really see our faces, and he was above us, so they are great shots of the tops of our heads with our eyes squinting up at him.

He's been quite rude to a lot of my family as they try and get their pictures for themselves. Altho he did my friends wedding and was okay there, I would not recommend him again; others have now told me they had the same problems.

Our photographer was amazing. All pics were perfect. They made sure none of the girls' necklace clasps were showing or anythin like that. But he was also relaxed, professional, and FUN to work with. We paid $900 and they followed us around all day. (10:30 am - 9pm). We received over 450 printed proofs and the rights to reproduce all the pictures. We also received a studio session, (which we used after the wedding and wore our wedding day clothes) It really added to our phot album because we had an outdoor wedding so the indoor studio shots created a nice mix. We got about 40 studio pics. We could have done engagement photos, but opted to wait and have wedding shots done at the studio instead.

We also paid $120 for about 10 enlargements and special color/bw enhancements. And an additional $150 to receive a cd with all the pics (studio, wedding, and reception). But they are exquisite and I will use this guy for all our family pics and recommend him to anyone in our area who needs a photographer. He was very flexible, timely, and has a great eye for cool shots.

I know another photographer in our area wh charges $950 and you the proofs digitally (only) and a good number of enlargements as well.

I don't recommend having a friend take you r pics with their own camera. Perhaps as a back up if you are nervous. Professionals have lots of experience with finding the best angles and making sure everyone is happy and smiling. Just research your options and get references.
If you are in Michigan, email me and I can give you their numbers.

i paid $500. it was for 100 photos taken. she was there for the beginning of the ceremony and through the cake cutting. the pictures came out great. of course we had to get copies and that cost a little more.

in the end with a big album and extra photos we spent 750. We had most done in color, the others were black and white.

most of the packages are a flat fee to cover the event all day. our photographer had other packages starting at $2000 and she would take unlimited photos and have us choose which would go in the album.

we loved our photos, so it was great for us :)

I'm not sure how much my niece spent but they did not got what they wanted the pics were crap. If you were not looking down on the couple and being able to see up their noses then they were so far away that you could hardly tell who was who...that's why I recommend people find a friend with a digital camera that knows how to use it to take the pics, that way you can "view" them right then and there and pick the ones ya want and get rid of the ones ya don't. You can do so many things now days with those machines to print off the pictures off. I just know my niece was crushed when she finally got them back.

I have another friend who spent a pretty penny and they were so blurry you could not tell who was who.

So it's buyer beware. I recommend finding out who else has used this person and talk to them, how was their experience, ask to see the pics--the quality and all.

$4000, coverage of wedding ceremony and reception. Got an engagement sitting + engagement folio (~10 pictures). Also included the album, which was 20 pages (2-sided) and probably ~120 pictures... really really nice. They didn't screw up anything because we had considerable input on the layout before it went into production.

BAD! my photographer was a total b***h. but very talented and i did have great pic's although she didn't get a very important one, our first kiss as husband and wife. she also forgot about my bridal portraits on the day we scheduled to take them, hair and nails and makeup done and no pic's that day. she was horrible and bossy at my wedding also. i did get her while she was just starting in our town so i got the wedding/reception (4hrs), bridals, and engagements for about $1400. she also changed her prices before my final balance was due and tried to double the price even though i already signed a contract! well, i recommend checking with the Better Business Bureau before hiring anyone to see if they've ever been reported also. learned that the hard way. well, it was good the vent.

Haven't gotten them yet but just over $2,000
Includes
Engagement Photos
Wedding Photos- 8 hours and over 150 pics
Wedding Album- nice flush mount one- not that cheap puffy one.
CD- of all the pictures.
We own the rights to our photos and can reproduce them.
If you are looking, I would check to make sure they give you the CD- most photographers are doing this today. Paying for enlargements is a thing of the past!!
