My fiancé and I are not very traditional people so we've decided to throw out most of the wedding traditions. The white wedding dress is one of the traditions that is being thrown out the window. Burgundy is my favorite color so I'm pretty set on having a burgundy/wine colored wedding dress. I've looked at bridesmaid dresses and they just won't cut it for me - I want it to really look like a wedding dress.

If I had more sewing experience, I would likely just make it. In fact, if I can't find something that I would be happy with, I will probably make an attempt at making it despite my lack of knowledge in this department. But that's a last resort kind of thing - I would really prefer to find one already made.

So, really, I have two questions which are associated...

Can anyone direct me to some web sites with burgundy/wine colored wedding gowns?

or, if not,

Can anyone give me information (book titles, web sites, just general tips) on how I could make my own wedding dress?

Now he's retired he's dabbling with computers and Photoshop so when we got the wedding photos from the brides father, the one of my wife and me dancing had Len Goodman from Strictly Come Dancing superimposed in the background holding up a 5 stick and the family wedding group has me with one foot on a football. I've got a computer- Is it easy to learn Photoshop to correct them?

Ok so ive been with my husband for 5 years(we got married 2 years ago) my best friend also got together with my husbands best friend at the same time and there still together now. Weve both had our first child at the same time and everything has been excellent. Then... a month ago my husband came home from a club and let slip that his friend (my best friends fiance) had kissed someone.
When he sobered up he kept tight lipped so i didnt say anything and let it go tho i felt really guilty. Then last week again he came home and told me his friend had gone home with someone! I questioned him there and then and he just poured out with all this info on how hes been cheating since day one! All through her pregnancy and everything!

I think its got to me even more because i can imagine being in her position as we were pregnant at the same time.
What do i do? Its easy to say tell her, but unlike me she isnt from a good family and she couldnt just go and live with her parents. Help!

Hi,
I'm going to get married with my Indian boyfriend next year. What do you think what can I expect? we love each other very strong, we also both admit that there are cultural differences that will be quite tough to get through but we are also sure that God sent us to the Earth fo be happy with each other.
His parents are also happy for me, I talked to his sister on the phone, they are very nice.
His parents are pushing our marriage that I do not mind at all, since I also want it very strongly :-))))
My question is how should I imagine the Indian wedding? what are the expectations I need to meet? what are the traditions? do I need to bring any kind of presents? What is the role of the bride at a marriage?
I have seen the film 'Monsoon wedding' but I assume it is far from reality.
Please help me.
I really appreciate your comments!!!

and takes revenge from guys in her past life ?[ did my gf also wanted the same}
My Gf..said me many times that,
1] if........I should leave her
2] If i am interested in someone else rather than her {when actually i was busy with my work]...i should leave her,
[3} if i dont im her.[when i am busy with something more important]. i should leave her,
and she would show she is super angry, and as if i have killed everyone on earth...I use to think ,if that is part of her nature I should accept her, be her punching bag, always be round her, so that her hands wont hurt if she punches someone{who dont care for her]
But....
1} it was her one mistake after 8 months ,
i just Shouted to check what she says .
2} I said her GET OUT OF MY LIFE..
3} She said she will follow my words..
and left has never shown yet....

WHY IT HAPPENED, like that
1}It took her -3-4 times to say me ...break our relationship...
STILL I always tried and kept saving our relationship,.
2} I JUST SAID

I need a strapless dress taken in 1 size and the hem shortened. There is some embroidery on the top, so not sure how that part will work to take in. (If it makes any difference cost-wise, I live in the San Francisco Bay area.) I'm debating whether to buy an $80 dress that needs to be taken in one size and hemmed, or go with a $299 dress off the rack that only needs a hem. I like both dresses pretty equally.

My mother has been asked to be maid of honor in an informal wedding that is a second marriage for the bride and the third for the groom. The bride is wearing an Alex Evenings dress; the skirt is flowy layers that fall a few inches above her ankle. She told my mom to just wear whatever she wants. My mother is wondering if she can wear a floor length dress. It has minimal decorations and she already has it.

Would it look odd for the maid of honor's dress to be slightly longer than the bride's dress?

Another problem we have though is that we are only 19 and most hotels wont let you reserve a room unless your at least 21. His parents offered to get the room in thier name but will that work?? Or do u need i.d. when checking in???please help!!!!???!!!

I'm planning a wedding for this time next year, and I want it to be inside, I live in maine so it's already below freezing outside. Also we aren't really religious and don't go to church so I would rather not get married in a church. Any suggestions for an indoor ceremony?
