Once and for all, we need to make a decision and stick to it!! We're getting married in March. He is still in college full time and my salary barely gets us by for the time being. Do we spend money we *hope* we will get for our wedding on a honeymoon or do we just take it easy at home and save our trip for a later date? Majority rules on this decision!!

My husband and I are planning a vow renewal for our 6 year anniversary. When we first got married we did it at the court house and promised ourselves if we made it 5 years we would do it over (the way it should have been done the first time) The thing is we don't want to spend a ton of money on this thing. We found a chapel that is very reasonable and even has catering if you want it with a very nice menu. But with the cost of food being so expensive we had to cut the guest list to a bare minimum so we could feed everyone. I am really not happy about this. Do you think it would be rude to invite everyone we want to be there and just ask them to bring a dish for the reception? That way everyone we love can attend and we can all sit down to a nice meal?

This is shallow, but is it possible to buy another engagment ring if you don't like the one you have? I always wanted a ring with lots of diamonds, but mine is just a band with one diamond on it. it's very plain, and i even shy away from showing people it. i have the money to buy the one i want, but how could i do this without hurting his feelings?

If you are not going to have your wedding in a church- what types of questions do you ask a potential wedding officiant (minister, preacher, etc). I know in regular churches they have everything all lined out, but if you arent going with a "traditional" church wedding, is it different?

I am engaged to the most loving, kind, handsome & affectionate guy. He helps my mother & I alot in many ways. Although he is in his late 30's he lives with his parents. No he is not a bum. He has a good job & helps his parents alot too. But sometimes I think he over does it. My fiance does not want anyone planning our wedding exept for the two of us. But he has no problem asking his parents ideas on planning our wedding but does not like my mothers involvment. Yesterday when my mom offered him some of her kitchenware for us he said he has his own. And he said the things he needs he will get them from his parents & buy them new ones. That does not make any sense to me on why he should buy them new stuff and we use their old stuff. Should I ask him what he ment or forget about it? He bought them a brand new car right before he proposed to me but they already had a car. Is he trying to buy their love? He has joint back account with them too. Is he saying sorry to them for marrying me?

I'm getting married in December..and looking at the dresses online..i absolutely loved an ivory colored dress. I wanted to be different instead of wearing white..since you can't reallly see the details in the dress when it's all w hite.
I chose an Ivory dress w/ rum detailings. It's really pretty...it's just that my moms wants it white. I told her if I chose white then you wouldn't be able to see the details. But she's kinds worried about the whole traditional thing. What will people think when they don't see you in a white dress? That's what she kept saying. I said...well...I don't care...i love this dress. But the problem is...the majority of people coming to my wedding are hispanics...and that's a big thing w/ the hispanic. I hope i made the right decision b/c I don't want to stress about that on the day of my wedding. I mean..I'm hispanic myself...but I wasn't feeling the white dresses I tried on. I guess I"m just worried of what people will say.

OK, I have a wedding reception location that is less than a mile away from my church. Its a realtor accociation headquarters and they rent the building out. Its nice and formal, but not romantic. It could def work. The pros is that it is so close to my church, less that 2 mins away and that is would hold everyone. The cons, its more expensive(only by $100), I only get it from 2pm until midnight, and the space Im getting for this price max holds 250 ppl. (Im going to only have max 150.) My other option is this city owned park's clubhouse. I get it from 8AM until midnight, and it holds slightly over 300 ppl. Its a little cheaper, but the only negative is that is 15 mins away. Its so pretty, and super romantic. I think its a better deal than the one closer to my church. So what do i do? is it a big deal to make ppl drive 15 mins away from my church to my wedding?

It doesn't have to be anything big. The little things are interesting, too. I'll start it off. At my wedding my granddaughter, who wasn't that little and who was my maid of honor, got tired of standing and just sat on the alter steps in her gown as we were saying our vows. My two daughters were walking down the aisle at my youngest daughter's wedding, the oldest was the maid of honor. I kept looking at them saying to myself, "Something's not right. What is it?" They both forgot their bouquets! How bout you. Do you have a humorous story you want to share? We'd love to hear it.

my cousin, who is also my housemate, is short changing me on groccery shopping money everytime she does the calculating. i know this coz i calculated it a few times before she did the calculating just to check. i dont know how to tell her..

the only solution i thought of was to salculate it before she does next time and ask her for money.

and i'm also always spending my money on her food without asking for money back. sigh.. feel so cheated.
