The lady you spoke with cant give you any cost estimates without seeing the dress. If you are able to get a "flat rate fee" then you are going to get "flat rate" cleaning service as well... There are many factors that go into the cost of having the dress cleaned/preserved. Among them are fabric type, beading, detail, stains/dirt, size/style (a plus size gown with a cathedral train isnt going to be as inexpensive as a petite dress with a sweep train), also any repairs that may need to be made...
If you want to know what it will cost take your dress to the dry cleaner you plan to use and have her look it over, if she cant give you an estimate then dont use that cleaner.
If you would like to have your dress cleaned / preserved without the worries of voiding your warrantee I recommend one of these...

My cleaners charged $40, but it was just to clean the dress, not to preserve it. I also ended up with a few beads missing afterwards, so I guess you get what you pay for.

It was over $200 a few years ago in Bucks County, PA. I wouldn't use the dry cleaner that you called if she won't give you a straight answer, sounds shady to me. They should be able to give a minimum price and be able to tell you what costs extra.

We charge $100 up depending on the kind of gown and it's level of details. To preserve the gown is $100 for the box, we do not make any money off the preservation box since we're already cleaning.

I live in SW Missouri and my cleaners charges me $50.00 to clean my wedding dresses that I rent. This is providing there are no excessive stains on them, like punch or wine or cake.

It shouldn't cost more than a couple hundred dollars...but make sure that you go to a good, upscale cleaners...especially if your dress is intricate (beading, embroidery, etc) because you don't want it to get messed up!!!

It depends on so many factors--how dirty it is, how intricate the design, the type of fabric, etc.
Mine cost $200 to be cleaned.

It depends on the length, if it has beading, how "poofy" it is.
The more decorated it is, the more expensive.
Try bringing it in when the manager is there, hopefully she can give you an answer.

Two years ago, it was $150.00. It also depends on the dress.
