My fiancee and I set our wedding date for August and now my church, (I'm Missouri Synod Lutheran) won't marry us because we live together. My pastor said the only way he could marry us is if we either separate until the wedding date, or marry immediatly and then celebrate our wedding in August with a vow renewal. My fiancee and I both hate those ideas and I'm looking for another church that won't judge us so harshly. Our wedding is in the state that I'm originally from, and I can't become a member of any church there because I live in another state, will that be a problem as well? I know a lot of churches won't marry you unless you're a member of that church. Any advice you guys could give me would be very much appriciated.

My fiance found a tux he really likes, but it would be 137.00 for groomsmen to rent. He is afraid they won't pay that. Is that too much?? I think it is his day too and should get to wear what he wants. Would it be a good gesture to offer to pay a certain dollar amount to help with the cost?? Really want the groom happy too!!!!

My boyfriend & I want to elope. We have been talking about it for a while. He is in the army.He will be leaving to Iraq next September. I am finishing up college.

We dont have the money for a wedding and neither do my parents. I do want the big traditional wedding but we can't afford it right now. We want to get married before he goes to Iraq. I really want it to be special since we will be spending the rest of our lives together.

Can we elope and then have the big traditional ceremony & reception in a few years?? What should I tell friends and family? We do plan on telling our parents. Also any ideas on making eloping special? I have found out that I pretty much have to get a marriage license then go to a justice of peace. Is that correct? I am just so lost. I never expected to do something like this. I wanted the traditional engagement & marriage. Any ideas on keeping some of the tradition? Please give me your advice and ideas! I really need some guidance! Thank you so much!

I'm very curious as to what my boyfriends ex wife looks like. He told me he threw away all her pictures but he's got his wedding video. He said only reason he kept it was because he has family on it who died. Anyway he showed his ex girlfriend the video but she made a stupid comment. I've asked to see it but he seems reluctant to show me. Why do you think this is?

I have been dating my boyfriend for over a year now. We knew we wanted to marry each other, just 2 months into our relationship. We knew exactly where we wanted to get married, and to be practical, we decided to go ahead and start looking at banquet halls, since the good ones book up fast. It's now been 3 months since we have put a deposit down on our banquet hall, our parents have done all the traditional formalities for us to be engaged, but my boyfriend still hasn't proposed! I have been nagging him about this for awhile, because it really frusterates me that we have already planned our wedding, and we aren't "officially" engaged. He got so frusterated with me nagging him about it, that he even told me how he was planning on doing it. Last week, I was so frusterated, that I seriously started doubting our relationship. Like many girls, I have always dreamed of a surprise proposal, and now I feel like it's never going to happen. Can anyone relate or give me advice?

We are planning to get married towards mid 2007 and we are stuck for ideas for where to have our reception. We've been to receptions where there is just a DJ/band and they were BORING. We want something a little different and entertaining. We are looking at a guest list of around 50 ish people. We are both quiet/shy sort of people so dancing all night just doesn't do it for us. Ok, I am 20, my little cousin is 18.. when we were younger, we both promised that when we get married she will be my maid of honor and I will be her's... Well, we have grown apart a lot, I still talk to her, but we don't get along as well as we used to. I am getting married next year and I feel obligated to my promise.. I am under a lot of stress and just need to relax, most times I handle it well other times I cry alot and feel vunerable. I am going to be moving 2500 miles away from home and I am going to miss my mom and my sister who have been a sense of security to me.
What is a good healthy way just to rest and be in the moment and not worry so much, what is a healthy way to let go of my family?
My sister Got married and I miss her a lot and wish I could talk to her and see her more often, but now she has her own life. Lots of changes, is this normal to feel this way?
