Generally you want the wedding band placed on first so that it is closest to your heart. I have seen people achieve this in several different ways. One way is to take the engagement ring off for the ceremony and then replace it later. Another way is to have your fiance place both the wedding band and engagement ring on all at once. The way that I plan on doing it is to move my engagement ring to another finger during the ceremony so that I am still wearing it and just have my fiance put on the wedding band. Then after the ceremony move my engagement ring over to in front of my wedding band. Some people also have the engagement ring and wedding band fused together so that when the groom puts the ring on, he puts them both on all at once.
I have also known of people who just keep the engagement ring on and have the groom place the wedding band in front of the engagement ring and then after the ceremony change it around. It all depends on what you want to do. I know some people who have no problem taking off the wedding band so they just switch the order of the rings after the ceremony. If you believe that you should never take off the wedding band, then I suggest you choose one of the other options I have suggested.
I hope this helps.

The wedding band goes closest to your heart. Most women don't wear the engagement ring to the ceremony, but put it on after for the reception. This is so you can slip the band on during the vows.

I think most people wear the band closer to the finger tips, but I did mine the opposite way. I wore my engagement ring on my right hand during the ceremony and once my wedding ring was in place, I later put my engagement ring on after it. The reason I did this was so that my wedding band would be closest to my heart.

The engagement ring is removed for the ceremony. The wedding band should never be removed so the engagement ring is just put on again after the ceremony.

Do not put your engagement ring on for that as the wedding band is closest to the heart add your engagement ring back on later. This will also make it less confusing for your poor groom who will be nervous enough at that moment.

the wedding band goes in front of the engagement ring.usually there is the wedding ceremony where the groom puts the band on and says the vows then the engagement ring goes on with an engagement saying.well that's how my wedding ceremony went.i was married in a united Methodist church.but ask your pastor/preacher about the engagement ceremony.

when saying your vows for the sake of convenience and not removing one ring and putting the other on then putting the other back on just put it on if front of the engagement ring during the ceremony. you can just switch it around after the ceremony. the wedding band is supposed to go behind the engagement ring unless you're afraid of losing the diamond ring as my mother was when my father bought her a 5,000 Marquis cut diamond with no visible flaws. she wore them backwards to make sure she didn't lose the diamond ring.

I believe the wedding band goes on first, then the engagement ring.
However, to make things easier, I would just leave out the engagement ring alotogether so you both just have one ring to exchange. Makes things a bit easier.

Place your engagement ring on the ring finger of your right hand for the wedding. After the wedding ring is placed on your finger, sometime after the ceremony you can slide the engagement ring back to the ring finger of the left hand atop the wedding ring.
