I'm Spanish-Irish and I married a Mexican. It wasn't anything big. She was still Catholic and the Spanish and Irish have a lot in common with the Mexican culture. It was no problem for our family.

The wedding reception was a blast. Everyone got drunk and starting sing old Spanish songs and my Irish uncles started up with their Irish drinking songs. They even tried dancing the Mexican Hat dance and danced it well. It was a lot like river dancing.

Did you marry someone totally different?
What did your family think?
What was your wedding like?

He called me the day before the wedding told me he needed the last 30 to pay off his tux, so i called the tux place, and he said he was on his way to get his tux, 2 hours later he called me and said he wasn't coming because i didn't call him enough before the wedding, he didn't even show up for the rehearsal dinner the day before and never mind i bought his girlfriends 200 dollar dress for the wedding, they should give back the money for the dress and the tux right?

I have a meeting with someone who makes custom invitations tomorrow. What are some questions, other than price, should I ask about her services? This is the first person I am meeting with and am unsure the type of questions I should ask. What should I know before I purchase invites? I will be meeting with people who make invites, but just need to know what you would ask! Thanks

What if my maid of honor seems not that into my wedding? She is expecting a baby in January and I am getting married in September. Does it just seem like she is preoccupied or does she not want to be in it? Perhaps she is too consumed in her baby plans? How do I get her more into it? We have been friends since 3rd grade and we are 26 now. I would like her opinion on what looks good. Should I just plan it with my fiance then? This baby has changed her like she doesn't want to talk much and she is so into her boyfriend that it seems like there is no time for me. I think that my wedding couldn't have come at a worst time and I would rather not get married anymore! Help!

I always thought they were to be done a couple/few nights before so all out-of-towners can have a hope in being included. But fiancee says it's better to have it a couple weeks beforehand. I suppose I am only trying to make it possible for 3 of our bridesmaids and groomsmen to attend all of our weddign festivites in one weekend (Bachorelette/bacholre parties both held separtley but on Friday, the rehearsal lunch the next day on Saturday and the actual wedding on Sunday). What did you do or what ARE you doing for your weddings?

we are not going to have alcohol served, but relatives are having a fit. should we give a little something at our home for the drinkers after the rehersal dinner ,or just stick to our guns and let them drink on their own dime and time. we are afraid if we do not ablige them before the wedding they might slip it onto the church grounds and embarass us. please help.

I am a photographer, have helped plan and coordinate several weddings and seem to have a knack for it. My Aunt (a decorator and event planner) has approached me about opening a wedding chapel in our "touristy" small town and I am considering it. I am not affiliated with any religion myself, but thought about getting ordained online to perform wedding ceremonies. Any info you can provide would be greatly appreciated. I do not want to invest in something that would not hold up legally...Thanks!

I'm a black woman and my fiance' is also black. I've searched yahoo and it seems like everyone who asks about a white tux IS white... so people respond differently and think it's not a good look.

My fiance' is dark skinned, has a slim (Ken doll) build because he has muscles and he's 6'4. We're having an outdoor wedding in the afternoon. I want him to wear something like in this picture:

BUT WITH GREY PANTS instead of white pants.
What do you guys think?

ex. did you and your bride/groom leave the church to a song other than the traditional wedding march?

2006-11-29 09:27:23 · 16 answers · asked by Katie Beth 2

Can anyone tell me who EXACTLY traditionally comes to the rehearsal dinner? Is it just the bridal party and their families, or is it the bride & groom's families only, or is it a combination of both? I want to start planning this as early as possible so that when the time comes, all I have to do is reserve, pay and have a good time? Thanks so much for those who can clear this up for me!!

Closing costs are about $6,000. I was in the military and I have a VA loan i can use that will significantly lower the closing costs. Currently we are using a conventional home loan.

My fiance would like to have a traditional church wedding, So my question is:

Can we go the the Justice of the Peace and be legally married and then 6 months later be married at the church?

Thanks!!

For our guestbook, we are going to use a guestbook from www.guestbookstore.com, which allows people to get creative and write/draw on a page for the guestbook. We plan to have a page for the guestbook at each table setting for the guests to fill out at their leisure and have someone appointed to collect them all before the end of the reception. To encourage the creativity (per the guestbookstore website), we want to provide markers/colored pencils for the guests to use. However, I don't know how to best display them at the guest tables. Our centerpieces are simple white candles in hurricane and votive candle holders. Any suggestions about how to display the colored pencils for people to use, without it looking tacky or disorganized?

I have been with my partner for 6 years. We have a 2 yr old daughter and we are in the process of buying our first home. Weve been living together since I was pregnant. I would love to start trying for another baby but would prefer to be engaged or married first. Getting engaged has always been a sensitive issue with my partner. He is 23 and I have just turned 26. All our friends around us are getting engaged or married. Both his friends and mine. His best friend has now told us he plans to ask his girlfriend to get married next week in new york. I am happy for them but cant help feel envious. They got together when I was pregnant. My best friend is getting married this Christmas, she has been with her partner 2 years. Getting engaged is a really big thing for me. All our friends joke about my partner asking the big question every time a special occasion comes up. It is also getting embarrasing. For me. He is not too bothered but I am. He knows how I feel. Would you be upset?

My fiance and I are having two seperate receptions. The problem is that we have a very modest wedding budget and our parents are not able to help financially either. What can we do to really cut corners?

I have seen these really cool wedding photo albums where the pages are VERY thick and the pictures are printed right on to the page. They are like coffee table books. And they have no plastic sleeves that hold the pictures. On some of the pages there will be one large picture on the back of the page and then printed right over that is three of four more pictures that relate to the large picture. I have looked them up online and found some but it does not look like the ones that I have seen in person. Cause the ones that I see on line have adhesive that you stick your pictures to. But the one that I am looking for is the one that has the pictures printed right on to the page, no adhesive involved.

Does anyone know a website I can order this off of, or the name of this type of album?

The one that i love right now and vulnerable to, we clash a lot on our differences, so we get into big fights from time to time. He loves me a lot as well so that is why we can't let go of each other. It is a strenuous relationship. We both have to work hard and make a lot of compromises. It's a roller coaster ride. When we are good, we can see us getting married and be very happy together. When we get into fights, we don't see a future.

The other one has been like a soulmate to me. We are like best friends and we understand each other real well. There is some attraction, but I always see him as a friend/companion that I confide with but will never be with since he was an ex of another close friend of mine, so I will try hard to respect that. Recently, he confessed that i am the one for him and he has tried very hard to stay away from me, but couldn't, and that he will wait for me. On many levels, we are very alike, think in the same wavelength, and have great respect for each other

My fiance and I are from different parts of the country. My father is in ill health and cannot travel, so I must get married in my home town. However, I would like to have the reception in my fiances home town because he has a huge family and we have lots of friends in that area. How should we go about splitting up the two events? Is it rude not to have a reception for the guests that can only attend the wedding?
