Closing costs are about $6,000. I was in the military and I have a VA loan i can use that will significantly lower the closing costs. Currently we are using a conventional home loan.
My fiance would like to have a traditional church wedding, So my question is:
Can we go the the Justice of the Peace and be legally married and then 6 months later be married at the church?
Thanks!!

Of course you can. Marriage is a legal binding agreement that shouldn't be entered into lightly, and you can always have a church wedding after the fact but the church will recognize it as a celebration of the vows you have already taken. Good luck and congrats on your life together.

In my opinion you have two options; break up with your fiance or cut the other guy out of your life and move on. You have to take time and think about the feelings you have for your fiance and this other guy.Can you see a future without your fiance? Could you imagine being with the other guy? I certainly wouldn't get married until this issue is resolved. Whatever you decide to do, remember that it is your decision and you are the one that has to live with it.

The VA loan should allow you to roll all of your costs into the loan. It is called a no/no. No down payment and no closing. You might even get money back that way.
But yes you can get married at the JP and then have a ceremony later for your wife and family.

Are you going to inform your family and friends that you already got married, or lead them to believe the church wedding is the real deal? You can do whatever you want as long as you're going to feel proud of what you've done.

Ummm its not that easy.... If its a catholic church, your going to have a harder time. They really ask a lot of questions and if they know your already married, they may not be as inclined to go forward with the ceremony. It might raise questions for them. I would suggest that you just get married ONCE its only 6 months. Good Luck.
