Can I ask why you didn't offer to pay for the tux rental but pay for his girlfriends' dress which cost $200. I agree with most of the people leaving comment. You haver every right to be upset afterall, he did leave you hanging on your wedding. I would be very upset. Give yourself sometime to get over it. When you are calm and ready to speak to him ask what his excuse was. In the future don't rely on him on important events such as this. I know it's easy to be said and done...try to talk to him and if he give you a good enough reason see if you can let it go...Blood is thicker than water no matter what you guys are sibling can't be mad at him for a lifetime.....Do give him hell for it and let him know how much he hurt you for doing such things....

F your brother.
He obviously doesn't care about your feelings, even on your special day.
I wouldn't try to get the money from your loser brother...its sad, but he doesnt value your relationship, so you should try to not involve him in your life.
Take the lost money as a lesson, and don't ever let him be in a position like that again
He has proven to you what he thinks of you. If he really had a problem with the cost of the tux, or a car breaking down, or something, he could have called somebody to help.

Is there some kind of unresolved family conflict? Or is your brother drinking, on drugs or just spoiled and flighty? If he committed to being in this wedding, if you put out the money for the expenses and he gives you a lame excuse about not showing up, something is definitely up. I would try to get to the bottom of it and try to save the relationship, but he has to meet you half way. As for the money, I think you can kiss that good-bye.

Maybe you need to talk to him and find out what's going on, it seems to be more then what's being said. He sounds angry and hurt over something, find out why. Do you really want to live the rest of your life angry with him? If he were to die tomorrow is there anything you've said or done that you would regret? Think about that, then call him

Wow
If my brothers did that to me I'd be furious. I think you should ask him for your money back.
Weddings are important no one should miss it if their invited.
But don't stay mad at him forever. You could miss out on a lot.
I'd give it a month or so.
