I think those are nice, and your fiance is going to look great. And the whole white people like white tuxs, I would say NO...... .For the most part I think I have only seen a black man in a white tux before!! I also like the white tux idea because your wedding is in the afternoon so its kinda casual for him. But I would suggest him go with the same color pants as the jacket, or else it might look funny. I don't know about dark pants with the white jacket, it might look a little too much like a waiter at a fine restaurant. But you never know until you try it on.
It's your (plural) wedding. Do what you want so when you're older you'll not think, "I really wish we had done it our way." And if it is out of fashion? So what! Again, you can look back and laugh, "Wow, you looked a little corny back then, but I liked it, and it was our wedding."
The tux store should let you try on different outfits, so have him try a few different styles and pick the one you and he likes best. Also consider what attendants (groomsmen) will be wearing, and if they will be different, you might want to see how those look next to him.
Good luck, and congratulations.

My fiance and I were going to have him wear Ivory. But my stepmother said that in the pictures it would blurr out my dress. In the end I thin she is right. So, we have decided against an ivory suit and opted for an ivory vest and tie instead. I think Black men look excellent in white tuxes and actually most of the models I have seen modeling thses white tuxes have been black men! Go with what makes you both happy. Its funny how we get a say in what they wear, but they rarely get a say in what we wear! Good Luck!!

Grey to match the vest? If the grey matches the vest, I think it will look very nice. Especially since you are having an outdoor wedding, the light colours will help brighten an already radiant day. The rest of the groom's party will be wearing black, I assume.
Ignore "fashion." I personally don't think fashion should apply to weddings unless the bride and groom want it to. To repeat what everyone says, "It's your wedding." Don't let some fashionista tell you differently.

Girl white looks really good on dark skin it would make him and the tux stand out. Since your an african american woman this is a great wedding website for planning. http://www.african-americanbrides.com. Scratch the gray pants I dont think that would look nice. I say either black or white pants.

Hey Gurl...I saw da pic of da tux and i think it looks really good. It doesn't really matter if da guy iz blk or white u know...I mean i think it will look more better if he wears a white tux cuz of da contrast...When i went 2 my prom, my date was blk and he wore a white and pink outfit and he looked sooooooo fine! But i think that u should stick with the white pants instead of the gray cuz then there would be a lil 2 much contrast. I think da tux looks fine for all da nationalities and cultural bkrnds. I hope u found my advice 2 work and help u...GOOD LUCK AND I HOPE UR GONA HAVE A GR8 WEDDING!

It depends on the formality of your wedding. If it's a more casual wedding, then the gray pants are fine. If it's formal, then everything should match.
To be honest, I always thought that white tuxes look better on black men than on white men...they look more stylish.
Either way, and I know this is probably sounding cliche to you right now- but it's your wedding. Do what you like!
Congrats and good luck!

My fiance's niece just got married this past July and her groom wore a white tux. He looked FABULOUS in it, and he is one of the darkest men I've ever met.
Bottom line, if you trust your taste, you won't go wrong. But if you want a little more piece of mind-have him try it on so you can see for yourself. It's traditionally bad luck for him to see you in your gown before the wedding, so you should be ok! Congrats & Good Luck!!

Actually I would keep the pants white and change the vest to gray.
Because it's going to be a lot of white then cut with gray the transition might look odd.
But that's personal taste!Heeheehee!
Congratulations and much happiness!
