If it is a local affair, then 6-8 weeks before the wedding...if you're going to a destination wedding then save-the-date cards are a MUST and invites should go out sooner, say 10-12 weeks before.

you're good 6 - 8 weeks isn't long sufficient of word to those that're out of city! i'm sending out my shop the date playing cards on the instant and my wedding ceremony isn't until at last December. My fiance's family individuals different than his mom, Dad and Sister all stay everywhere. some are in Hawaii, Utah, California, Arkansas, and Kentucky. My surely invites are going interior the mail after exertions Day (September). i could deliver your shop the date playing cards good after the 1st of next 12 months and then the invites 3 months previously the marriage. do no longer forget approximately to function in oversea delivery time for the individuals in Asia! sturdy luck and congrats!! ? You can send engagement announcements soon after the engagement. You can send save the date announcements 6-8 monthes prior to the wedding date, and you send the invitations 4-6 weeks prior with a RSVP date that is 2 weeks prior to the wedding to make sure you have a proper count. I got engaged 11/16/2005 and our wedding date is 7/22/07. Congratz!

2 to 3 months would be the best in my opinion. When I get invited to weddings, it's always like 6 months. First, it gives time for the people to find their gowns and and prepare themselves. After 1 month or so, they will tell you wether they can come or not soo it is easier for you to get the number of chairs, tables, and also the amount of food for the restaurants. A magazine on wedding might help u organize.

I'd say 6-10 weeks. You want to leave enough time for people to clear out their schedule to attend. Four weeks is acceptable, but your guest list will possibly be smaller because of previous engagements with your friends and family. Remember that the fall is the beginning of alot of new work schedules and school for alot of people with children or in school. So it's important for them to have time to plan.

Four weeks before the wedding for local guests
Six weeks before the wedding for out of towners
Some opt to send save-the-date cards 3 months or more before the ceremony

I would send them out at least 3 months early as you are getting married on a long weekend. I also would send out save the date cards for January 1 as it is a holiday weekend so people can get time off. I'm also getting married on a holiday the more time you can give out of town guests the better. I would make the RSVP date for first week of August.

About 6 months before the wedding, send the invitations out and give one month to r.s.v.p. This gives people time to prepare and plan.
