Or am I the jerk for not wanting babies at my wedding? It is my wedding afterall, or is it? The way half of my guests are acting... I swear what I want is the least important thing going on here.

This guy was great during my wedding festivities. He was a groomsman, helped with rehersal dinner, decorated the car, etc... I feel that I should show him the same respect and courtesy, but I'd rather avoid the whole situation (wedding included). We're all supposed to be close friends, but I'm having a hard time dealing with his getting married. What to do?

My fiance and I have decided that this wedding this is way too expensive. We have already mailed out the invitations, but we want to cancel the wedding. How does one word the cancellation of the wedding? We have decided to take the money that was going to be spent on the wedding and go on a great honeymoon instead!

Things to consider are: that it is reasonably close, ie flight time not more than 6 hours or so; hotter the better, beach and luxury hotel is always a winner with her. Cash is not unlimited but shouldn't get in the way. Thinking April but maybe sooner and thinking of a long weekend.
Also any suggestions on romantic ways to propose will be well received.

My best friends sister is getting married and I usually give me friends a $100 check. Is it ok to give less because it is her sister. I don't want to be cheap but we have to drive 8 hours for the wedding and get a hotel so its going to cost a lot. Her sister was at our wedding and gave us a $25 giftcard to target (she does not work).

i am deeply saddened by the loss of the newly weds in yesterday's plane crash. i keep reading all these stories about how they were married in a museum and it was a fairy tale wedding with a horse drawn carriage and 300 guests. only to have it all gone the very next day with this plane crash.
i'm at least releaved that they were together and were able to have lived to have that love and to have one night of an amazing marriage.

i woke up this morning and didn't want my husband to leave. i have had a huge awakening as how short life is.

who else woke up this morning realizing how short life is and how unexpected things really are?

okay, my hubby and i are getting remarried at our 10 yr anniversary, because when we got married it was at the courthouse. so we both wanted to have a real wedding to celebrate later on. nyways, our 9 yr ann. is next march, and i have already began trying to get things together. i feel good doing this, knowing i have plenty of time to get it together. but at the same time shoulld i wait a little bit or is it cool to do it this way. that gives me 1 1/2 yr to make it what we want it to be. and also its really a vow renewal, so would it be done the same as a wedding or differently? but is it ok to make it like a first wedding considering we never had our first one?

In my opinion, I feel that the overpriced weddings of today are ridiculous! I want my wedding to be a party and for everyone to have fun and remember it as a celebration and a great time! I want my bridesmaids to wear cute shoes they'll love and fun dresses they can wear again. However, there's always the issue of how to go about this and I would love suggestions! I was thinking of having a later ceremony, around 7 or 8pm, and then a reception involving an open bar and appetizers and dancing and mingling with all the guests instead of sitting tucked away in a corner. We could still have all the traditions: first dance, receiving line, best man speech, all that. I think a huge sit-down 5 course meal is silly and a waste of money. I'd rather spend the money on a fabulous honeymoon! Is this something people do? Where would a good place be? Any ideas? Suggestions? Concerns? Thanks in advance!

My sister is getting married in November to a wonderful man. It's going to be a formal event. I love her dearly, but she is a fashion slave. She wears whatever is in style, regardless of how it looks on her. Most of her firends are just as bad, so they encourage her to wear clothing not meant for her plus size pear figure. In school, she was alwyas very preppy because her friends were. In college, she started dating a guy from Texas, so all of a sudden cowboy boots and Stetson hats were a staple in her wardrobe. After they broke up, she went back to the prep. I don't care most of the time, I love her no matter what. But I'm trying to show that she follows other people's fashion, not her own sense of style (if she has any.)
Our mother just plain has no taste, and freely admits it. She has no clue about how to pick clothing to flatter her figure or her coloring. They have asked my advice for a dress for her, since they both seem to think I have good taste.

Please this is serious. My fiance, though a wonderful person, very often seems to suggest that i have no life! This is affecting my self-esteem gradually... i had no problem with my way of life earlier and never viewed it as worthless. But since i realized that he's not very happy with the way i am , i feel unworthy of just anything. I must say he's a nice person who initially made me feel extremely valued. I know love changes.... but that early ??

One day he says "I'm ready to get married, settle down, and be a good husband!"

Then a month may go by and he says "I'm not ready to get married, I have too many things I have to get together 1st before I can take that step!"

Then he's like "ring? flowers? honeymoon? sex!?" --Planning to get and do all of them!!

Then "I need to wait a little longer before I even think about a wife!"

............(you already know~smile~)............then he's like "You know... you would make a great wife!"

I could really keep going with this! He's been like this for the past 3 years!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

AAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!

Please read the question before answering:

Because the EU is a modern creation, EU member countries who currently allow gay marriage clearly do not count.

Given that more than half of civil marriages between men and women end in divorce, why do people think that gay marriages will work any better when the temptations are greater for gay adultery than for straight adultery.

Do gay people really want to get mixed up in property division, child custody and support, attorney's fees, etc. Do they want gay adultery to enter the courtroom (I saw my partner with so and so leaving the club).

With all this talk about gay marriage in every American state, convince me that civilizations with gay marriage will survive in the long-term because I think that gay marriage is CLEARLY an instrument from the Devil.

My brother is getting married soon and my parents are hosting the rehearsal dinner. There will be close to 40 people in attendance. My parents don't drink, and many of the people attending drink heavily, so my parents don't feel like they should have to pay for people to drink like no tomorrow. Is there an easy way to tell them that they aren't going to pay for the alcoholic drink? Possibly in the invitation? Please help!!!

My fiancee and I have budgeted our wedding to pay for the 24 people in our lives who we couldn't get married without. You know, the people that if even one of them was missing then the day wouldn't be the same. We are unable to pay for anybody else without cutting costs to dodgy levels. We wanted the big wedding but couldn't afford it. How will I word the invitations to ask the others to fork out the $135 a head to come. Our parents aren't an option for cash...

Got a wedding to go to this weekend. My boyfriend's cousin and his fiance, neither of whom I know or have met.
They have a registry, but it is only to one store and I personally am not a fan of the whole 'impersonal' gift giving thing.
I would like to give them something special and unique, something they can actually use over the years and not just a blender or bedding. It is really a shotgun wedding as she is pregnant, so I thought maybe I could combine the wedding present with a baby present as well or maybe even toss in something towards the Honeymoon...but it turns out they are not having a Honeymoon.

Any suggestions?

The invitation has my name, but not guest with it. Because of this, just wanted to check and see what I do. I'm serious with my GF and by the wedding she will be my fiance. Is it okay to ask my friend if I can bring her with me, or should I just politely decline? I don't want to step on any toes and I want to do the right thing. Please advise.
