I am doing a party for a bride who is a bit of a wallflower and doesn't like any fuss over her. I want to do something fun but tasteful for her bachelorette.

Im getting married Friday July 4th, 2008. I know i have plenty of time but would like to get some in put. I fell in love with this wedding dress that has some red embroidery in it. Its not a lot but it has a touch of red. Do you think the bridesmaids should wear red? I dont know what colors to do. And I dont want a red white and blue theme. Thanks.

Hi. I am not into pubs or clubs, but I want to do something for my hen night. My maid of honour will be sorting it all out, but I want something really memorable, and not too expensive...any ideas folks?

We sent out our invitations for our mid-August wedding in the beginning of June. We asked for RSVP's by July 19th (today). We invited close to 200 people (mostly family) and we have only had a few different people RSVP, and know about 60 people are coming for sure. Now, a ton (29 couples, most have kids) havent RSVPed and thats a possibility of 70 more people to the list if they did come. Well, the problem is, we are having food catered, and we need to tell the caterer at the end of the month how many people will be there (we are serving dinner) but we dont want to order for a bunch of people who never show. My mom and my fiance's mom offered to call the people on the list who didnt RSVP, and see if they are coming and just forgot. Is this rude to do? We really need to know, but I dont want to sound rude or pushy about it.

I will be a bridesmaid in my sisters wedding, but I would really like to throw the bridal shower. Does this have to be the maid of honors responsibility, or can I offer to do it? I know my sister wouldn't mind or anything if I did. Also, how long before the wedding is a bridal shower usually held? Thanks so much!

I have a bit of a problem, or at least I think I have. I am estranged from my father due to an abusive difficult childhood. I am getting married in February, and they asked in my 'giving notice' session, what my dads name was and what he does. I told them his job and his name.
I read in the booklet we got from the register office that your dads name will be on the certificate, is this true? How can I make sure it isn't on the certificate? Also, will his name be mentioned in the ceremony? He obviously wont be present, but will his name be mentioned by the registrar within the ceremony?? I am a bit worried as I want my big day to be the most special day of my life, but this is really upsetting me as I don't want him to be part of that day.
I would really appreciate replies. Thanks.

I've been friends with my best friend for 17 years, and she is getting married on Saturday. She approached me to be in her wedding, which I said yes to. She said that when I got back from vacation, we would go pick out bridesmaid dresses. When I got back, I made several failed attempts to contact her, and because of it, she picked out the dresses, which were in the $200 range. She knows that I couldn't afford it, raising a child and going to school. I talked to her about it, and she just brushed me off like it was nothing, and made one of my friends a bridesmaid. I had asked her to be a witness at my wedding 4 years prior, and she never showed up. Then, to top it off, she came by my house tonight to rub it in my face about the dresses (she brought one over). What should I do? Should I go to the wedding, or should I talk to her about the very hurt feelings? I went to her bridal shower and bachelorette parties, and I felt so out of place it was embarrassing. What should I do?

I need dares for a hen night, but have certain rules to keep to: no kissing men, or getting parts of the body out, either the hen's or a man's. Have trawled the net and got a few ideas but any others gratefull received

I have been searching and searching on the net for an online store which sells Girls Occasions/Party/Formal Wear/Flower girl dresses etc but I am not having any luck at all. Does anyone know of any good UK sites I could try? I have got really annoyed because out of all the seemingly millions of sites I have tried, there has only been one dress anything like what I have in mind and that was in America and took six weeks to ship! Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!
