How are poor college students supposed to pay for a wedding? The families on both sides will pay for neither college or the wedding.

My wedding is planned for the 25th and my maid of honor says she can't make it because she just started her job, and she's on a probationary period.
We have changed the date and it is a little sudden, but she's done this to me before. When our date was in May she said she didn't think she could make it, because she was in the Navy and May was when she was coming home. We even tried to change the day to the end of May so she would definately make it and she said, "Don't plan your wedding around me."
She's never really been thrilled about it all either.
Am I being irrational, should I change the date, again, for her?

I need specific sites that have good decorations for a wedding done as if it were in Las Vegas. I need streamers, balloon, and other various decorations. I've been looking for weeks and finding nothing. Specific sights would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much.

I am getting married in March and at first my fiance and I were not planning on having alcohol at the reception because his family is Mormon and they do not drink or approve of alcohol. My fiance, friends, and members of my family aren't heavy drinkers, infact we rarely drink but still want the option available.

Also, my fiance is the oldest of four kids and the only male. His sisters are all married and had very simple small mormon weddings which are different. My fiance is dragging his feet on asking his parents about the rehearsal dinner and I feel that they should host it because he is their only son, its the last wedding in the family, arent helping anywhere else, and have not spent anywhere close to a fortune on his sisters' weddings and are able to afford a simple dinner

Should I leave alcohol out because his family doesnt like it and go ahead and plan on providing the rehearsal dinner too? We would not serve alcohol at the rehearsal if his parents were paying for it.

Ok first off, I love my fiance's mother very much. My fiance and I grew up very different households, his family was more country and mine was more city (if that makes sense) As soon as we got engaged I knew the planning of the wedding would hit some bumps, but I had no idea it would be like this. First off I don't want any children (besides the ones in the bridal party) to attend the wedding, and when she found out she freaked out, then the colors; I want black, white and red as soon as I said that she flipped out again! This is just scratching the surface, I get a little irritated because my parents and my fiance and I are paying for everything so I feel like she doesn't get a say in it.I don't mind ideas but she has no tact when it comes to giving them, honestly she hurts my feelings most of the time. This weekend my mother, sister, future mom and I are going to a bridal show and I know it will be a little uncomfortable, I don't want to hurt her feelings but it's our wedding not hers

We are getting married at the beginning of March which, unfortunately, is hard to predict weather-wise. We are timid about going anywhere North because it's likely it will still be cold. We are on a strict budget (would like to spend under $1000) so we will probably need to drive to wherever we go. Any ideas of places within reasonable driving distance to Cincy that would be romantic enough for a honeymoon?

Ok, I have a slight issue regarding tuxes. When my fiance and I first started planning our wedding, my bridesmaids (which are my sisters and my neice) paid for they're dresses. I didnt ask them to, but they knew I didnt have the money, and my parents are putting out alot of money for the wedding, so they thought it was only fair. OK, no biggie. Well, we thought to make it fair, then the grooms men should pay for their own tux. At first, my fiance and I both agreed... well then my fiance brother got married a few weeks ago, and my fiance was in it, and he didnt have to pay for his tux. now my fiance says he would feel bad if he made everyone pay for their tux (we will need 7 tuxes total, each at $129 to rent!) Thats $903!!!! What are we going to do?? I cant ask my parents since they are paying SOOO much... and we cant, we dont have the money. Any advice PLEASE??

If you haven't gotten married yet, or if you have already been married, what was the color scheme? I probably would want a white and pink wedding, or really any wedding with pastel colors basically. And just to try something new, I might even go multi-colored pastel like white, pink, and pastel orange...it would be something different from what I've always seen at church...

My best friend of 8 years is getting married in December. She told me she wants to keep it really simple and I completely agree with her. She has so many people offering help (including me) with the planning. I'd really hate to seem selfish and nosy, but is it rude to ask to be a bridesmaid. I'd truly be okay if she didn't ask, she did after all invite me to the wedding, but I'd really love to be included in the process. Is it a bad idea to ask?
