Don't use the colors but you can make it so much fun by picking a theme. Know where they are going on the honeymoon? Decorate it like a tropical paradise or have a Casino Night shower with small gifts being the prizes. Instead of playing poker you could play Old Maid, its always funny for a bridal shower. Pick a theme and go with it. They are always fun ans show just how creative you are. If its a girls shower and meaning not Grandma and Mom, have an adult themed one with lots of lingerie and sensual oils and things her husband would definitely appreciate. Make it fun. Showers can be too conservative and boring, spice it up a bit.

I don't think it needs to match. Think of it like the wedding gift registry - it's a great place for ideas, but if you know the bride well enough to know there's something else she'd like, there's no reason not to go for that instead. For example, maybe they're having a December wedding and the colors are maroon and forest green to reflect that, but you also remember they'd originally scheduled the wedding for May and she'd planned ivory and lilac as her colors then to match some of the seasonal flowers. You could have an ivory and lilac shower to give her the best of both. Or maybe she loves going to Hawaii - you could have a luau-themed shower with hot pink and turquoise everywhere. You see where I'm going with this. =)

Honestly, I don't think that it really matters. My colors for my wedding were shades of green and my shower was white and pink. They didn't match at all and it looked fantastic!
I think it depends on your personal preference. Don't go crazy with the colors but make it something different that you really want. It will be nice for the bride no matter what!

Ask the bride what color she wants at the shower. Sometimes it's not always the bride that picks the colors for her wedding for whatever reason (pressure of everyone around her). So this is something that really can be just for HER! Tell her that when you ask her.

No, only the reception decor should match the colors of the wedding.

THis is a personal choice. My personal opinion is yes...but I've seen many that don't and I wasn't turned off by it. Do whatever will make the Bride happy, that's all that really matters anyhow. Just coordinate. GOOD LUCK! :-)

Not necessarily. Sometimes going overboard with colors is pure overkill. If you insist on using the same colors, consider using varying shades.

They can but in my experience they usually don't. I hope you have a great time planning the shower!
