I made my own headpiece, it wasn't a tiara. it was barrette and veil that I wore on the back of my head. Some people would be interested but not most. Most want to spend $200+ so they can say how much they spent. Brides on budget would really appreciate your work. Also, the kit would have to be around the same price it would cost me to go to a craft store and buy the same stuff. Why should I pay you for what I can do myself cheaper? Also, you can buy ready made tiaras at the craft stores so you'll have to compete with that. Good luck.

I would definitely consider it (I'm already married but I mean, if I was planning my wedding). I would probably pay between $20 and $40 for a kit. I know that doesn't sound like much but I think that for something that you put together yourself, it's a good price. And cheap compared to a lot of other tiaras.

well as a single person I don't think that making my own tiara would suit me at all. Well that and being a man (not that a man couldn't wear a tiara if he so chose of course) but I am simply demonstrating a well known fact that an answer is only as good as the question!
Sounds a little pretentious to me. When I think of tiaras I think of the State Opening of Parliament not Mrs Jones or Mrs Smith getting hitched - o.k. just a personal thought no snide comments!

Wish I'd seen this 2 years ago. I desperately wanted to make my own iara, but bought one due to time and the fact I couldn't work out how to do it.
The only other reason I didn't was I was worried it wouldn't suit me. I had to try five or so on before I found one I felt looked right. If I had made it I would have had to take a chance on it.
How much would depend on the metal eg gold, silver, white gold etc and the stones or pearls used.
Good luck

Absolutely - sounds like fun and you get a unique and personal tiara.
As for cost I suppose it depends on what materials go into the kit - presumably gold wire costs more than steel etc. Perhaps you could have different priced kits.
You could also offer materials and suggestions on how to incorporate existing momentos - for instance the buttons from the brides' mother's dress (I had mine sewn onto my dress) or plectrums for a bride marrying a musician! (Just randown articles I picked looking around me) - to make it really personal.

My Mum made my niece's tiara. It was at a fraction of the cost of a shop one and just as good. Find out how much they are and go from there.

brides have too much stress already...they dont have time to make their own tiara. Besides not all brides have a tiara...most still use veils.

i think the idea is really neat, but i dont think brides would be the ones buying these, it would be a close friend or family member making it for the bride. I dont know how many people would want to, but you never know!!

Sure and it would be unique and special and know how much pride and fun you'll have making it. When people compliment it you can say "I made it myself"!
