I am engaged and I was talking to my dad the other day and he suggested that my fiance and i take time away from eachother ... like a week or 2... not talking or anything to see how we feel afterwards and to see is we still want to be together. Should I or shouldnt i do it?

I know i love him and i know i want to be with him and my dad said he did it with his current wife and they have been able to work things out SOO much better than he was able to with my mom (then again my mom is reallly stubborn). I know he is looking out for me and not trying to break us up, if he was he would flat out say we should break up..hes tried to break up an ex and me before and flat out said it...so he is just looking out for me.

so what should we do? should we take the break or should we just keep talking because we both have said we dont need to figure it out because we know?

My Wife of 4 years is driving me up the wall. I want to leave bad to be on my own and not because i met someone I just want to be free of her. I am only 26 I care for her but I have put her through hell and I don't think there is any going back or making it work. I have cheated and lied, wait she has too. We have split up and got back togeather to many times to count and now when we fight she has started hitting me. Now by no means is she hurting me I am well trained and in the army so she really isn't hurting me it just scares me. I take the blame for the way she acts but I have had enough and I am not afraid of moving on anymore. The fighting is starting to affect my Two young girls too. We are both good parents this only seems to be bad when we are together. WHAT SHOULD I DO?

For quite sometimes now I've seen this guy who I now care about. We dated for a brief period of time 6yrs ago. But things didn't work out because I was too young so I broke it off with him. We went our separate ways. Thereafter I got married to now my husband. During our marriage, my husband had done so many unfaithful things. To make the story short, I met him again during my rough marriage time. I start to care for him and I want to end my marriage. I told my husband what happened but the thing is that my husband seems okay with it. I meant he wouldn't get mad if I go to see this guy. He still treat me like a wife. This isn't what I'd in mind when I told him the story. Some other husbands would've already shown the wives the doors, but not my husband. Why? He even let me go to see the new guy if I want then pretend that everything is okay and still says he loves me and continue on ourlives. I'm shocked!

This is probably the fifth time he has gone to jail in the last 4-5 years. We have three small children and we do not own any property. He treats me nice sometimes, buying me jewelery and handbags. But he is constantly yelling and criticizing me. He keeps me stressed and depressed. I'm tired of the whole thing. In the past there has been physical abuse. He has stopped that, because I have told people about it, but he still threatens the abuse if I don't shut up. I need to get away from him. He has gone to jail and we do not have enough money to cover all the expenses. I am giving up our apartment and will put his things in storage. The guilt comes in when he is released he will not have any home to go to. Should I feel guilty? Should I try to get him someplace to live? Or is it his problem. Also, I will be paying his truck note and car ins while he is away.

Where have I gone wrong?

ok, only trying to understand something here. We have been married for 10 yrs and have 3 beautiful children. I'm a Soldier and she's an RN. I help a lot around the house. I cook, clean, dishes and laundry, you name it. She has never been much of a house keeper. Even when we were dating. She stacks and plies stuff, and never throws anything away. I was deployed for 16 months, and since my return, I have returned to my normal house hold duites, which I have no probblem doing. During the months of October thru 5th of December I was away from my family to attend school and my wife let the house go to hell. I am currently doing the last load of dirty laundry in the house. Yesterday, she left a pair of dirty pants and underwear at the foot of the bed and asked me if I was too lazy to take them into the laundry room, to which my reply was, no I'm not the lazy one who left them in the middle of the floor. So my question to you ladies is..Was I wrong to say that or is she wrong ?

ok, i had an argument with my girlfriend this weekend about cursing in front of children. She has three boys 13, 11, 8. I have a 4 year old. My complaint was that sometimes she curses at her children, An example would be telling her 13 year old to shut the f*** up. I understand that the 13 year old has the 13 year old mouth on him, but am I wrong for bringing this topic up. We have been in a relationship for almost 2 years and it is something that really bothers me.

My fiance & I have been living together for about 5 months now. I moved into his home. I do pay part of the rent & provide all of the groceries for the household. However, I feel like he treats me like a child, & that my vote doesn't count. Our home is heated by propane & he is constantly riding me about what the temperature is set at in the house. He likes to keep it at about 62 degrees, but I sometimes get cold, so I will turn it up a couple of degrees (maybe to about 65 or 67 or something). It's getting to the point where I have to sleep with three blankets, flannel pajamas, & two pairs of socks on...but I still sometimes freeze. I mean last night my toes were numb. He also throws a fit if a light is left on for more than 5 minutes, & whines about the cat being in the house. Even if I'm sitting & petting the cat, he'll grab the cat & toss him out without saying a word to me.

I need some opinions here. Is he a control freak? Should I try to work this out or not? I'm fed up!!

I watched some myself for a short period of time, but I wasn't really into it like that. Then I make an attempt for us to watch it together and he didn't care for it. Now, I found out he's been watching it & did NOT tell me... So, why do I NOT like it? How should I feel? Is that okay? Should we try watching it together (since he's been doing it)? He said he'll stop if I'm uncomfortable, but it's more that he kept it from me!

I had a question about my parenting plan. Does the cevaluator come up with a parenting plan that she reccomends to the court? or does she create a document about us as parents and that is presented to the court and a parenting plan is developed from that by the judge, us and our lawyers.
My daughter's father was abusive toward me in our marriage. After reviewing all of my evidence, I feel confident that the evaluation will come out favorably toward me.
But I am afraid of my x. I am afraid for my current husband and his children too because they live in our household. While married to him he did threaten to kill me on more than one occasion. I have reason to believe that there could be a real danger if his custody or visitation is changed.
Can I ask the custody evaluator to request a PO for me and my family? There was never one granted. My lawyer is conservative and feared that if we asked for one and it was denied that the initial request for one could look like I am vindictive.

One in which, although husband and wife works. The wife makes much more money than the husband and pays the bulk of the bills, ie mortgage, utility bills, car payments, while the husband just helps out where he can ie food expenses, not able to provide too much because he is still is paying back student loans.

Was it your choice to quit your job to be a fulltime housewife after you have gotten married or your husband's suggestion?

Any thoughts of going back to work?
(For those who've yet to have any children of their own)
