Marriage & Divorce - 30 December 2007

I'm just curious. I've been married for almost 6 year now and have spent most of that in verbal/phycological abuse, that has slowly worsened. I'm ready to get out, because it seems like just a cycle. He pulls me in with sorry's and love, and then the next fight we get into it happens again. Then he pulls me in again. I think I've about given him enough chances now, and now he feels a bit threatened so he's pulling out all the stops and telling me that he will change and never treat me like that again. I'm not buying it, and I'm ready to walk out. What are the odds of men changing without the "wake up call" of a woman leaving. He tells me that he loves me so much, and that if I walk out the door, his whole world will too, etc. I'm so hard hearted right now, so I just listen and think "Yeah, I know it will hurt, but I don't think you'll change for the better?" What are the chances that he won't need to go through counseling and hitting rock bottom before he can change? Anyone been there?

My husband was sentenced to 15 years in jail for a drug sell charge. He is begging me not to leave him. i asked him time and time to stop and i do love him. he has never been before, but has had chances to stop! He has been on probation and house arrest, and still continued after i begged him. He probably won't serve all 15, i don't know. He is not a bad guy just made bad choices!! I am so confused. Please Help!!!! I don't want to do congegul visits, that is just not something i see myself doing though he begs me and says as his wife i am obligated. i have seriously thought about just getting out because the sitiuation is stressing me! BAD!
Plus i am not financially able to keep sending money and paying for the HIGH phone bills! woul i be wrong to leave him while he is at his lowest and really needs me! and yes i do have kids, but not with him... please help! oh yea he did cheat some when he was out and i forgave/ so do i stick through this also. considering my vows. pleeeaase help!

Our visitation is based on even-numbered and odd-numbered years: In even-numbered years the father has Halloween, Christmas Eve, New Years Eve, Easter Sunday, independence Day, and one of our daughter's birthday. In odd-numbered years he has New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and our other daughter's birthday. He told the girls that he would pick them up on New Years Day today when I picked them up from their weekend visit. I had to explain to the girls that this was incorrect, etc. I called my ex and explained our legal visitation schedule. I know he's upset, but we have the girls on New Years Eve and New Years Day by my interpretation and we made plans with the girls far in advance for the day since we're off work. He won't let me get a word in at all and told me again he'll be at our house to pick them up on NYD. We have planned to be out of town and obviously will. Have I interpreted our visitation agreement correctly?

i am 16. My parents are getting divorced. I live in MN. My mom said she is going to make my life a living hell and im kinda scared. Do you kno if there is a law that will let my dad have custody. Am i old enough to choose for myself. If there isnt some sort of law my mom will find a way to get around it and honestly i dont want to end up with her!! please help

I 've been in contact with a guy i dated years ago. Even though it's harmless chit chat, i've started having these feelings. The thing is...i'm married and he's single. I told him that i couldn't chat anymore for obvious reasons. Then, like a fool, i decided i still wanted to keep in contact once in a while and sent him another message telling him that i would like to stay in touch. My husband knows i keep in touch with old friends, but i didn't think i'd end up feeling this way. I'm a very committed and loyal person and didn't see the harm in contacting each other from time to time. I guess i got caught up in nostalgia and some of the fun we had.Now i think i made things worse. I honestly want to put a block on our messages for good, but can't bring myself to do so. My son is 17 yrs old and we are all in the living room and I went on the phone to call a friend to ask a ques..so the phone was ringing and he asks me who Im talking to..I said no one at the moment. He goes and sits down and she answers the phone whatever and I go check on my niece that I'm babysittn..I come back out and he looks at me al crazy and calls me a liar...I was all confused and said why?? He said you are a L I A R A liar...He said because I was on the phone...and I told him to stop trippn, he said "your just a liar" I think its stupid and I dont think he should called me that that way and argue in front of my son. My son is not his BTW. What do u all think?

If a man is fed up and unhappy in his marriage why does he stay with his wife and then just go out and cheat?

Most cheating is caught so he knows he is running a huge risk so why do they do it?

Im going through hell right now because my wife just told me she doesnt want to work things out in our marriage. She didnt want to go to counseling at all. We just bought a new car 2 weeks ago and it was all good. The I love you babe and all that.. now when i ask her if she in love with me she says no. we have 2 young kids my son 6 , and my daughter 2. we split before and we got back together agin to make it work. I just feel like she gave up on our family....she has been clubbing really hard with her friends. maybe she misses the single life but damn ya know. Im just devestated , and feel lost. We are both 25 but I just dont know what to do. She doesnt show me affection like a wife normally would....we have sex like once every 2 weeks which of course i dont like...but i was willing to make this relationship work. I know I have to end this relationship, but it's really tough, we have two children and I've hung in there a lot longer than I should have for their sake. I can't do it any more. (Believe me, it's justified.)

It's very common in our area, and I have used it myself, however, I've noticed that everytime he goes out he seems to be using. He's even started to lie about it when I ask, even though it's very obvious that he is. Not only am I worried about his health, and our finances, but the fact that he is in the forces and if is drug tested will lose his career. What can I do to help him?

let me first say im 26 and i am handicap. i can walk and stuff and i am independent for just about everything. however i get around in an electric scooter for when im out and about and have to walk long distances. dating has been a challenge for me as girl just look at the outside.

anyway my story starts as im sitting there in my scooter drinking my beer and these 2 girls come up to me. they start the convo & i of course start asking them questions. they told me there lived in the town over and were from CT.

the girl i was most interested in (and the one that honestly did all the talking) she did all the questioning. i told i lived near by and that i came to this bar a lot. she told me she likes to but with there jobs it is hard. she asked me if i had a g/f and i told her know. i told her girls seem just to look on the outside & not the inside. she told me she saw nothing wrong with both the inside or outside. she then told me she had to go to the bathroom and left.

My mother said my ex had papers served 22 days ago to my old address and that in the divorce it states that I give up my rights to my son and allow her new man to adopt. I have been fighting her all that I can with living in another state. She won't allow me to see or talk to my son. Changes her # everytime I get it. The divorce paper said I had 21 days to react. Am I too late? Can she really put this in the paper?

The husband has stopped drinking alcohol...used to drink like a fish

He used to smoke 3 packs or so a day, he just up and quit.

Says he is not going to just stay around the house anymore, the wife better be ready to be on the move, going out and what not.

What the hell has gotten into him and how does she help?

I met my boyfriend 6 months ago, I knew he was separated but he told me he was ready to move on, he had tried dating back in feb but it was way too early as they only split up last xmas, I was a little wary as I still thought it was too early, but he convinced me he was ready.
I expected his first xmas after the split to be a bad one, he misses his 2 girls desperately but tonight he told me he still loves his ex wife, he said he still wants to be with me as he thinks we have something special. I knew 3 years into the live-in relationship when my father died in a car accident one night and I forgot to leave gas money for my husband (my then boyfriend)..I take his check for the week to pay the bills and gives him what he needs (money for food, gas, spending, etc). He went through a jar of change, went to the gas station (with dimes, nickles, and pennies), pumped up and surprised me at my mom's house (which was over an hr away) because he wanted to be there to support me..What a sweetheart..That's my story.
