Women in our society are considered sexy and sensuous. The best that men can hope for is to be funny. If a man tries to be sexy he is considered gay.

My husband and I have only been married for 3 months and things are already spiraling downhill. His daughter came to live with us not even a month after we got married. Her mother who lives 12 hours away dropped her off one day and said she wanted us to keep her for a while. Well we haven't seen her in a year and a half and her bad behavior has become such a stress in our new marriage. all we do now is fight about stupid things when really we're stressed about her. he was laid off his job a week before our wedding which stressed us financially and left me to be the only provider. We already have a younger son who's picking up on her bad behavior. My husband critizes me for not having a better bond with her, but I critisize him for not allowing me to more time to 'accept her as my daughter'. i'm just fed up and stressed out at this point and i'm seriously ready to give up. i just can't believe we're letting a child ruin our marriage.

I was always raised to believe that the man should be the bread-winner in the household, and that it's okay for the woman to work, but not make as much money as the man.

I no longer agree with that. To me that still seems sexist. What I believe now is that it shouldn't matter who the bread-winner is, as long as the man has a job and is contributing to the welfare of the family. No matter what job he has, he should have one, unless he's on disability or has something wrong that makes him unable to work. What do you think?

I'm not friends with my husband's ex, but I have nothing against her, either.

He had a life with her- together, they made a beautiful little girl- and it ended (not even sure why- but there must have been a reason).

I read a lot of questions on here from step-parents concerned about the amount of contact between their partner and the ex. It's obvious that most of the time it's all fueled by jealousy..

Do people not feel it's important for a child to see their parents cooperate and have a decent relationship-even if it's not romantic? I encourage my husband to keep contact with his ex. There have been times he's taken his daughter and ex out to dinner without me- Did I mind? No. My daughters that I have with my husband get time with both their parents daily. Why should this little girl not get time with both of hers and no "extras?"

I feel it's important- I wouldn't have entered a relationship with an already father if I didn't expect him to be a GOOD father..

So what gives?

"Rivers Run One Way"

Do you ever wonder why rivers run one way,
have you sat in silence, a special place you stay.
Many thoughts abound, yet spoken words not heard,
Alone or lonely, a choice we make, how it seems absurd.

Thinking of the past, seeing success and failure too,
sitting close to GOD, is what I vigilantly must do.

Winds of change appear, yet rarely do we see,
the forest through the trees, as winds lift you and me.
This chatter that I hear,, makes my stomach turn,
living everyday for him,, a new love that I must earn.
Look,, there's GOD,, In the wind, the birds, the wind, the trees,
Painting pictures by the river, always there to please.
You are like my river, in my heart you stay.....
Do you ever wonder,,, "Why Rivers Run One Way?

GOD knows,,,, Tom Caswell

I had a horrible fight w/ my hubby this morning and I am still fuming. What happened was, he went out to the bar last night and didn't come home until 3:30am. So we have this rule that has been in effect for years that when he comes home very late on a day that I work that he sleeps on the couch. Because I have to wake up at 7am to go to work and I am a very light sleeper. So last night, he didn't come in and wake me up, but he did come in and take my blanket off of me (I had 2 blankets on 1 fluffy 1 heavy, he actually lifted the fluffy one up (which was on top) and took the heavy one.) So I woke up about 1/2 hour later shivering in the cold (it got below freezing last night). So I go downstairs there is my hubby sleeping on the couch with my heavy blanket!!! The linen closet is full of blankets just a few feet from our bedroom! So I bitched at him this morning and he said i was overreacting, that i was hogging blankets and why did i need 2. What do you think, would you be angry?

I am close to filing for divorce. I have tried the counseling, my husband refused to go with me. He is just an unreliable, undependable, self-centered, narcassistic man. We fight constantly and I know it must be tearing my kids up (7 and 8 yo), but I am scared what divorce will do to them. I know its not sane to live in a house where there is no love at all. Are they really better off with us divorcing? My husband comes from a divorced family and I honestly think that is the root of half his problems.

I am 30, have no kids, and am not married (I have a bf). I have always had this nervousness about having a child. I'm not nervous so much about the labor and everything that happens during labor but am worried (and have always been) about what guys think when they're watching this happen?

My aunts husband freaked out after the birth. He is a surgical asst. so you'd think he'd be okay with all of it but they RARELY had sex after she had their son because he was "grossed out" by the delivery. I can't help but wonder how many guys get really grossed out and maybe see their wives differently after seieng her give birth. I know that some fall more in love but some feel less attracted...

what has your experience as married people (with kids) been?

I'm due around Christmas and this year we made a pact that we will not go over $100 on a gift. There is a necklace I really want that's $300 and i've told him if he can find it on ebay for under $100 I would like that for Christmas. Should he get that as a gift for me having the baby? Or am I expecting too much?

I've somewhat suspected my boyfriend (we have 2 kids together) of cheating- but everytime i've said anything to anyone they have said, "oh you are just being paranoid" (ever man ive ever dated has cheated on me).. Last night we were at home and I was talking to my sister and a call came through on the call-waiting and I answered it and it was a female. (because it was call-waiting it didnt show up on the caller id the name or number) anyways- she asked to speak with him- he was in the living room playing with our girls. He took the phone- and after a second walked into the front hallway and was pacing around talking. I was listening to the conversation but didn't hear much- and he was talking like, "yes, ok" and "sure" he was more just giving answers... anyways.. then I hear him say something about one of the guys he works with and then he gave her directions to our house and saying what time he thought he'd be out of work. If I heard right- something about 8pm. He didn't
