Does this person have a sponsor? If so you need to contact his person immediately. "slips" happen but this person has to be willing to "work his program" in other words the 12 steps that help them get sober in the first place. They need to get to a meeting immediately, it is also recommended that they do 30 meeting in 30 days if they are sincere about their recovery. For the person who has someone who has "sliped" get yourself to an alanon or other support group for persons who have recovering spouses/significant others. You will find the support amazing and suggestions on how to take care of yourself during this persons "slip".
Good Luck

I agree about getting help for yourself. There is Narcanon and Alanon, and CODA. All are 12-step programs that help people who are involved with an addict. It is your responsibility to stick with your man, but getting him clean is not your responsibity or in your control. Build a support system so you can support him.
I use a hypothetical "you" in my answer. I understand the question was posed as a hypothetical and not necessarily about you the asker.

Make sure the money is seperate so the drug user can not spend all the money on drugs. Call the cops on them, call their NA contacts, etc.
Stage a intervention.

You suggest they get help or you or the other is out the door. If they refuse to get help then you need to take him up on that offer. Tough love otherwise he will continue.

get them help and stay with them, cause if they managed to stay clean for 4 years then it appears they are trying. drugs are addicting and they may have a lot of stress so you need to help them.
