Marriage & Divorce - 27 October 2006

We married 5 years ago and have a 4 year old son. He loves the son and sais that he wants the son to have mommy, daddy and a home where we live together.In the past he wanted to have more children but I refused so recently he called me and invited me to meet his girlfriend who he said is a woman of his dreams ( he said the same to me 5 years ago) .He said she agreed to have children with him soon and he is madly in love. He said he loves me too dearly as his friend and wants us all to be friends.He said he will keep our beautiful flat for me and our son and nanny and will be living part time with me part time with new girlfriend. I think the girl is young gold digger and is after his money. My husband is wealthy but the wealth is offshore and if we split up I will have nothing ( had consulted and spent over a £1000 on one of the best london solicitors already) He said i am free to date other people. I am a postgraduate student my family is back in russia, i got no job and nowhere to go

I have been dating a wonderful young woman 25 for 1 year, and we fell instantly in love. Never having been a father, I also learned to be an influence on her beautiful 3 year old son. I have been able to offer her affection and happiness that she hasn't had previously, at least that is what she had told me. Lately, she has trouble with the time spent apart from her child when he is with his father, and is considering going back to him to spend more time with her son. He spends about 2 nights on average a week at his home, but the rest of the time at her place. She had lived and been with him off and on for 6 years, and she finally moved out permenantly about 1 year ago. I make a good living, have offered her the chance to stay home throughout the week to maximize the time with her son, but she can't stand being away from him. How successful or damaging can it be to grow up in a household where the mother doesn't love the father, is it best for the kid?

My husband is upset because I don't make a lot of money, according to his definition of a lot of money. He wants to be able to say that his wife is a pharmacist. He has threatened to divorce me if I don't apply to pharmacy school. How can I get him to understand that it's important that I do something that I really want to do? I'm just not sure about becoming a pharmacist. I think I would love the job, but studying chemistry for four years will be dreadful! My husband doesn't make "a lot of money" either, and is a workaholic, anyway. I suggested that he go to pharmacy school, but he said "I'm already doing what I want to do," which is psychotherapy. I make $44,000 a year now, and I kind of like my job...It's not the best, but it'll do. I want to have a family soon, and my husband said he won't have "Wal-mart babies" with me, whatever that means...I think it's time to dump him! What do you think? He expects too much and doesn't love me for who I am.

Amy applied for welfare.. foodstamp/medicaid on her first pregnancy two years ago... she was married back in 04 and left her husband after three months... he was put in prison. She had a child a year later by another guy and considered herself single.. she never changed her social or driverslicense because she was only with her husband three months. While on medicaid and foodstamps she didnt put married on her application. Can She get into trouble for not reporting she was married and put single instead. Now she is wanting to get help from legal aid to get the divorce and fears she will be in trouble when they find out she got a divorce. Please help me help her to understand.

I woke up late last night and came out to find my husband on the computer, he jumped and hit the X button quickly. I saw red but couldn't really focus on what was on the screen. He told me he was getting on AKO (a military site) and just to go back to bed. I got up this morning and looked at the history and found tons of porno sites on the histroy. right before AKO I looked at the site and it was red. Just like what I had seen last night. now i know i'm not perfect but i do pay the mortgage , all the util. and pay for my truck payment , and 9 times out of 10 i pay for all the food not to metion i've been paying 1000.00 a mth to my friend for her wedding ring for 4 mths and only have 1 payment left . taking all of this in mind i have been stressed because money has been short and we are both use to doing things that we can't do right now. she barley makes enough money to pay for her car and insurance , oh yeah i paid off her 700.00 credit card this summer . i've been trying to rehab the house so we can sell and buy a new bigger house. so again i come home some times and i am crabby and don't want to talk alot. and I can't take her asking me for money every day or just asking anything period. so i'm taking a shower today at 7am getting ready for wrork and she asked for 25$ for gas and she got paid yesterday. some i made arude comment about that and she slapped me i can't believe this bit ch and we are getting married 2w

I am a married mother of 2 children who has been married for almost 7 years now. Over the past couple years its gotten to the point where I feel like I have more of a roommate, than a husband. I cant even remember when the last time i heard him say, "I love you". I've often thought about leaving but something has told me not to. Maybe its all for the sake of the children, Ages 3 & 7. I know as of now, I still love him but I am not "In Love" with him.

Theres this guy that Works at the same place I do. Over the last couple of months, We have seemed to be talking more & more. I think abt dumping my husband but i'm afraid that people are going to talk behind my back and who are these people, these are people from my origin. I'm a muslim and originally from india. My religion permits us to divorce your spouse when you think that the relationship is not working out. Islam is an open religion. It gives one a lot of rights but its the followers who dont practice it right. So i guess its the culture. If i divorce my husband, people are going to think i'm not blessed. Some of them might even stop talking to me and accuse me of bad things. Al though my parents wont have a problem with me divorcing my husband but my relatives and perhaps some of my friends will think of me bad and will look down on me. I'm a USA citizen and it makes me different but i wonder if people from my society are still going to attack me. And there is also one another major problem with my culture, a girl who is divorced is going to have a hard time finding another guy to marry.
