As a man, I think that is good, no one needs to be beat to get a point made. I hope that ,that law goes two ways because there is some rough women out there to. As I said no one needs to be beat to get a point made.

Fathers of daughters will feel a little more secure in the knowledge that their daughters wouldn't be physically abused by their husbands for dowry or anything else.
Most wife bashing machos will think twice before raising their hands. Some of course won't care two hoots and carry on as usual. Hope the law gets them and gives them a taste of their own medicine.
Overall every sane and sensible man will be satisfied with this law.

Domestic violence is bad period. But this law is just paper. We have laws in the U.S. and women still get beat. The woman alot of times is still to affraid to stand up because they may lose their income or they "think of their children" so they deal with it. So a law is meaningless unless the police support it and the women stand up for themselves.

I hope the law not only prohibits husbands from being abusive towards their wives, but also prohibits wives from being abusive towards their husbands. This is to protect the wife more than the husband.
What sometimes happens is that the wife starts to nag, and this can constitute "verbal abuse" towards the husband. The husband tells her to stop it, but she does not. She continues endlessly, until the husband can no longer stand it, and hits her.
Wives are also known to throw objects (shoes, pots and pans, anything she can get her hands on) at husbands. This too can lead to her being physically "abused" by their husbands.

This will only detoriate the situation, coz those woman who are good, will never use it, and those who are already crooked, will find it just as an additional tool to victimize the males in family.
