I feel so stupid asking this question, I used to be so independant and had the world at my feet!

My husband gets nasty. On Friday we had an arguement when I was driving. It was because I wouldn't take him somewhere the next morning because I had made really important plans to help my friend as it was her wedding day. He kicked off because he couldn't get his own way and was going mental at me in the car because I wouldn't take him home. I thought if I could just get him to his friend's house then he would be fine and would leave me alone. He tried to pull the handbrake on as I was doing about 40 MPH. Thankfully my car's computer stopped the handbrake from coming on. I shouted at him and he grabbed my arm and pulled me across the car into his seat. I had to go to the wedding with a big thumb print on my arm (very noticable!).

I have tried to leave him before but have never been strong enough to do it. I do love him, but don't think I should put up with this.

My niece and nephew say their mother emotionally abuses them. She also keeps them in their house and has them do chores from 7 a.m till bed which is priority over school work during school. She moves them and hides them from us (Dad's amily). Their Dad is no longer a part of their lives' so I am lost on what I can do to help them. Next school year they begin homeschooling; my niece starts high school next year. They are both against it but fear saying that to their Mom in fear of punishment. They both want to live with me or their grandmother but we are at loss of what we can do according to California law. They also say their Mother does drugs but I have no physical proof of anything. Help please
My niece is cutting on herself and is depressed, my nephew has ADHD which she refuses to treat
They are 12 and 14

I am not a deeply religious person. I am a firm believer of the seperation of Church and State...just look at the religious wars going on in the middle east.

My question is; Does anyone disagree that the 10 comandments are a good guide for living a good and honest life.

Would you be the type of person to just go on one night stands and have that do it for you, or would you go the whole hog and embark on a sordid, crazy, rampant affair that was all consuming.......and what would make the difference?

In the State of Michigan can you pick your own parent to live with?
How old do you have to be? When parents divorce ... does the child have any rights?

My wife's mother is coming to visit for a week today and she was too tired to make love last night so she said she will sneak down to see me tonight while I sleep on the hide-a-bed. (Her mom is taking our room and my wife is sleeping in our kids second bed.)
If the bed is incomfortable to sleep in how much is it going to suck (no pun intended) to have sex in?

I was married on October 8, 2006, since then I have believed that my husband had stopped smoking cigarettes. Periodically I ask him if he has smoked because I can smell it, he will look right into my eyes and say no. Since our marriage he has lied about smoking to me seven times. Each time I explain to him that it hurts me, I feel like I cannot trust him and I would rather he tell me the truth. I have suggested the patch, the pill, counseling anything to help him quit. I try to be supportive and understanding, but I am tired ofthe lies. I am 34 and just not too happy about being a newlywed with someone who cannot be honest with me. Of course, this has spun into other issues of trust as well and the problem is greater than just his lying about smoking to me. I have suggested counseling and even approached him crying saying I am worried and I think we need help to communicate better with one another. How far is too far? Am I just being codependent? Help!!!

My husband completely surprised me when he cheated. I thought we had a solid marriage. He swears he'll never do it again if I forgive him. Will he do it again, even though at this moment he might be sincere?

Me and the father of my children are apart now. However, the thoughts of him in the arms of his previous lovers or whatever they may be doing is driving me nuts. I tried to shut them out but they keep coming back. So does the hurt. I know it is pointless to think about them but these thoughts come quite frequently especially at nights when I am alone before sleep and I hate it when it happens.

Anyone of you ever had these hurtful visuals and thoughts and how did you handle it to keep yourself sane?

Thank you.

I am in a marriage of almost 10 years (together 5 years before marraige) and I feel the reason for our marital discord is the lack of romance. In my opinion just being there everyday is not enough, it takes effort to keep things from becoming stale. Marriage without romance seems like a glorified friendship, don't you need the romance to seperate the two? And shouldn't both be responsible for keeping it alive?

We have been married for 8 years, it seems that we have only been best friends, business partners. We are not in love with each other. We have 2 children 6 & 3. We do not want to divorce and we do not want to stay together just for the kids. We both know we deserve to be loved. We enjoy each others company and we rarely fight. This is a hard decision for both of us. Can we realisticly get a divorce and remain friends?
