She has already let us lose him to the father once. Now we have this week on week off crap. The baby is miserable but since we are just grandparents we have no rights. The father is just as bad as she is. I am so torn between continuing to live being held hostage by her or throwing her out and losing the baby. Should I just keep my mouth shut and enjoy my grandson (who is more my son)? Do you know of any cases in TN where grandparents have won rights over parents that I might look into?

Imagine you have been attracted to your sister in law for years.
You love your brother very much.
Your marriage is a disaster.
You have always flirted mildly with sister in law but have never pushed the envelope and she has never seemed to reciprocate your attraction to her.
Lately, though, things have changed and you notice she has started to "warm up" to you. She returns your flirting and you start to see the signs of a solid infatuation or maybe even love.
She is a woman you would want to spend the rest of your life with if you were not her husband's brother and if you were not married yourself.
Both your and your brother's childrend are adults now.

What do you do? Divorce your wife and start pursuing your sister-in-law? Pretend your are shocked and talk to your brother? Talk to her? Cut all contact? Other?

He really gets annoyed with black people. He says that their lazy, they stink, etc. And I get pretty angry when he says these things. I want to tell him that those things arent true, but he isn't the kind where u sit him down and talk. He's as stubborn as a mule! I want to tell him not only black people do these things, every single race does this!!! There are good black ppl, and bad ones. Good hispanics, bad hispanics, good white ppl, bad white ppl, etc. Hell, we came back from the beach today, and a couple of black kids gave us the birdie while he was driving. Maybe he thinks this becuase we live in a city in NJ thats FULL of bad black ppl and he automatically thinks every black ppl is the same. He's wrong. I know just alittle bit of good black ppl. We just dont see alot here. How can I tell him?

He is such a fool. He, my mom and my sister are sitting here listening to a dumb psychoanalysis tape and all I did was laugh while I was answering a question and hes like " If you are not interested in what we are listening to then you can just leave the room because we are trying to listen." In a mean way of course. He is always mean to me and I cant get away from him. What can I do to handle this fool before I have a nervous breakdown, huh?

Well, I don't want to say hate because that's a really strong word and my mom does not like me to say that and stuff...

But she dosen't understand because she grew up with no siblings, and she always expects us to be nice towards one another, and I understand that.

But my sister is one total b****, she changed her personality ever sinced we've moved into our new house. She's now overweight ( not extremely, but you know meat on her bones),
inconsiderate, and spiteful. I'm exactly the oppisite...

She is so mean to my parents, she always demands stuff from then even when they don't have extra expenses. I'm always considerate of my mom, like when we buy stuff I always like to get cheap stuff so she can save money.

And she treats my dad like a taxi for her and her friends forcing him to take them left and right all over the damn place. She is soooo inconsiderate its crazy...

I'm 15 yr old male, who gets good grades and she's 13 with bad grades now....

Some advice plz?

As for me being she, as for world me who am begun it is the person who raises, when I want, the can reads desultorily “Internet” with anytime. You say that she gets married, or me the girl friend is necessary to find at least, beginning. What the origin you must do that with something? I am not recognized either one.

I to enjoy the fact that “Internet” is read desultorily, systematic so. I before I obtain the bed, morning most with do that. That to remove my pressure, because newly it does not become always, not to be under any condition, I may enjoy the new material. My mother does not understand by any means. The fact that it is not the activity where reading desultorily the forum on internet is plundered is explained to :(

I'm 25 with two brothers, 4 and 6 years older. We were sometimes hit and I'm wondering if it was legal - this was in the UK in the 80s and 90s.

I got smacked on the bum or legs, usually by my dad, and *very* occasionally had my pants pulled down for a spanking (hand only). The last time that happened I was about 8. I wasn't really hit after the age of 11 except for being slapped across the face once when I was 13.

My brothers occasionally got the belt. I never did, but was threatened with it. The older one only got it once that I remember, the younger a few times, the last time I think he was 14 (so it was about 1992).

I only got hit with an object once - my grandma once spanked me on the bare bottom with a wooden spoon when I was six.

I've always wondered how much of this was legal and whether any of it was abuse. I have never known what the law was then and always wondered.

My son, his wife and their new baby live with hubby and I, along with two of my grandsons (7 people). Her Mom and Grandmother showed up at our house last week and said they left their apartment and needed a place to stay.(They got kicked out for not paying rent.)
After I fed them, I gave them a list of emergency housing agencies, and the phone number for the disabled housing assistance. They stormed out of the house yelling "thanks for nothing" and yelled at my son "Your mother is a (bad word)" and tore up the list I gave them.

Why would they not go to the agency that the taxpayers have set up to help people?

its really hurtful to hear and sometimes i just want to cry. a few days ago my mom's friend told my mom that I resembled her a lot in body shape and how i walk. instead of taking it as a compliment, she loudly bursts out in front of my friend and her mom, "wow im not as fat as she is, am I?," i tried to laugh it off but the situation became very awkward and i coudl tell my friend's mom was a bit startled. She constantly has sporadic outbursts of mean comments like you're fat, why are you so stupid, how come your grades suck...It really is hurtful and i don't know how to handle it anymore

My mom always does my taxes, and this year she said she was going to claim me and my son so she would'nt have to do as much paper work and she'd just give me the money. She gave me five hundred at first and said she only got a grand and didn't want to give it to me all at once. Does this sound shady, and is she even lying about the amount because I wouldn't know?

Sometimes, when things aren't going well, we look to blame. Sometimes, we go to our childhood and blame that.
Which parent do you most blame for your problems, when you're in that mood?
And if you care to say, which parent do you give the most credit to for the good in you and your life, as well?

I'm a single mother of 4 children. 2 girls 8 and 16, and two boys 10 and 11. The only thing I could afford was a two bedroom apartment. When we moved in they got the master bdrm with the walk in closet and the 1/2 bath. and I took the small bedroom. They all have beds of their own. (bunk beds) Their own dressers and there is a partition down the middle of the room so that they can have some semblance of privacy. It's like two small bdrms in a large room. My mother however is peeved at not seeing her grand children more since she lives in Jackson and we live in Grand Rapids, and is threatening to call the local cps if we do not move closer to her. Like anyone with children when you hear those letters you freak out. Well, before freaking out I plan on doing the research but need help getting in the right direction. We live in Michigan. Not sure if it is a federal or state law. So Please shove me in the right direction if you can. Thank you.

I'm wondering which one of your parents was the disciplinarian? Which one did you respect more as a kid and which one do you have a better relationship with now?

I grew up with two older brothers. Dad was the disciplinarian, mum was more of a softie. We obeyed Dad more as we knew he meant business. Some might say we respected him more, some might say we were more scared of him, I think it was a bit of both. He would smack us, not all the time but not infrequently, while my mum hardly ever did. My brothers also got the belt very occasionally for really serious things (this was in the late 80s/early 90s). I never did, I think because I was a girl, although I was threatened with it a couple of times.

My oldest brother was always close to my dad. The middle one used to clash with dad a LOT (they get on okay now, but still not brilliantly, although my brother now admits he used to be a pain) and I'm probably closer to my mum because I'm a girl. What about everyone else?

Get a myspace. They said people get kidnapped, raped, and stalked. This is true, but the people this happens to give out personal information such as phone numbers, addresses, ages, schools, states, towns, etc. I wouldn't put any personal info and won't accept anyone I don't know as a friend and they still won't let me. What are some websites that give articles explaining that only people that give personal info can get stalked! If you don't give information, then people can't find you! And please, don't respond if you are just going to tell me not to get a myspace and all that stuff. Thanks in advance!!!!

I live in tragedy. My daughter and I were best friends; when she was a child; we were appropriately parent and child. We got along so well; everyone commented on how much we loved each other, what a happy and great family we were.

After her wedding fell through, we became even closer--for two years. Then one day she turned on me--just like that! I was in shock and asked her what happened, "I thought we were doing well." Her answer was a sarcastic "You're great in a crisis."

She was about 30 by this time, and had never talked "mean" to me before. Everything got worse, until now I am no longer "welcome" in her life--and that means the life of my grandson, as well. It is a fate worse than death for me.

My son is baffled. She won't explain herself. Before the final banishment, she was verbally cruel, and one night lost her temper so badly she started bashing me. (Note, I never hit either of my children.)

I fear it's the medication; SSRI's can cause violence.
