I have been with my boyfriend for over 1 year and 7 months. and My mother just can't accept him. She says he doesn't deserve me and that I can do so much better. She doesn't like him because he is not that attractive and isn't as romantic as she would like him to be, It's not that he doesn't do cute details it's just that I am scarred to tell my parents because i fear they will criticize and make fun of my relationship. It's not like hes a bad person he cares for me and we are there for each other and support each others goals. I know i messed up because after a while of dating him i told my parents we had broken up and that was a lie because i continued to see him. Finally I wanted to make things better but my mother just gets angry when I go out.. I don't know how to convice her we truly love each other. He has proven it to me but she doesn't think it's enough... What can I do??

12-15 subjects basically picnicing at a near by grave site "holy place" which is posted in the area with rules stating "no picnics, proper behavior at all times" and also states "please maintain a quiet reverence and respect for the other people visiting the resting sites of loved ones". My mother and sister after cleaning and placing flowers at my family's grave site walk over to the area were the family picinc was occurring and gave them their garbage from their children playing like the cementery is a play ground throwing garbage digging up the ground and etc. Instead of hay kids stay over here or stop playing on other peoples graves, the answer was you f*-&!?^ B*^%! then 3 of the females jump my sister and mother throwing them to the ground kicking hitting them with a baseball bat, grabbing and pulling their hair, please what is this world coming too, on holy grounds? Yes police where called and two female subjects where arrested, but what's next my mother scared to go back. thanks

So many people I know or have met in my life seem to live their whole lives in the tradition of their parents, got married because their parents expected them to, chose a certain profession because their parents wanted it for them, had kids because their parents wanted grandchildren, etc...? Do you think that it we "owe" our parents. I can see if they foot the bill for college and afterwards the kid just lays around and does nothing (unless the kid didn't want to go to college). But don't you think it is the parents' responsibility to raise us, provide for us, until we are of legal age, without expecting anything in return.

I always wonder if my brother who is 26 moved out into a apartment and had an extra room. He always says I could move in with him. I'm 13 years old and he knows that my mom is no good. She brings him and I to tears and stress. Would he ever be able to have custody of me if he had an apartment? He has his own child and a girlfirend, also.

My son is much better off with me, his mother doesn't work, has 3 other kids all by different men, lives off of food stamps. She does have a live in boyfriend, which my finacee and I also live together. In her care my 5 year old son has missed 11 days of school his first year in kindergarden, which he did pass. I am always the one to take him to the DR. as she will not ever take him. She has let her boyfriend spank my son to the point that welts were left on his legs from a belt for a few days. I did call Social Services, and they just don't give a crap, they check out there home and later dropped the case. Also she lets my son watch really bad movies, like pg-13, and he is only 5. I guess my question is, should I just get over it, and have to learn to deal with the way it is, I mean I see my son 50% of the time, but at this point I feel he needs more stability, instead of back and fourth, we live 25 miles apart. Or should I fight for full custody??

hi...i'm a 24 yr old woman. i recently married my bf of 7 yrs...i had moved in with him when i turned 18 and got pregnant within a month. i was studying at that time and didn't want anything to tie me down. so i aborted the baby without telling my bf. now i'm quite well-settled in life and i married the love of my life. i couldn't hold it to myself anymore and told him that i had aborted our child long back. he was very angry.....i just blew his mind. he's upset i did that and said that i didn't even think once of asking him before doing it. i know wat i did was wrong and am ready to make it up to him....he's just too angry with me to even listen. wat do i do?
one more thing...i've been off the pill for 2 months now and have still not conceived. how long does the pill take to get out of the system? i'd really like to start a family now and make it up to him...how do i make him come around?

My sister's boyfriend is over, and a few seconds ago, my sister barged into my bedroom with him.. and.. my room's a mess [there's stuff all over the floor... EVERYWHERE], i have no furniture other than my bed, and on my bed, lie my undies which were supposed to be put away in my closet and a PILE of clothes too...
On the floor was a tub of Nair Leg wax...
And I was sitting on my bed like a little internet freak with the covers from my bed all over my head [what can i say.. its comfortable~!! ]
And when he entered, he was shocked and I just stare at him in shock too.. then try to laugh it off.... then the blanket that was on my head falls off to reveal reeeeally messy hair.
And then, he was really close to seeing my undies, so i threw a stuffed animal at him and pointed out random posters lying around in my room...
Is there any other way I could've handled the situation...?:???
What would you do???
IM SO EMBARASSED T____T

I mean I have been surprised by a lot of things the courts let people away with. I mean does someone have to almost kill a child before the other parent gets custody. I'm sure it will be harder considering I am a dad trying to get custody. I am just not happy with the way my ex is raising my son? She let the poor boy miss 11 days of school last year becasue she simply woke up late, and this was his first year in school. I have let things go in the past, but eventually reached my breaking point when my son came home with welts on his legs from a belt. My sons mother said she told her boyfriend to spank him because she was to mad. I called DSS to report abuse, and after some checking there house this and that they simply dropped the case. Bullcrap. I am not trying to take my son away from his mother. I just know it is in his best interest for his primary residence to be with me. What do you think

When a grandmother states that she prefers one grandchild over another in the same immediate family (a brother against brother). If it were between cousins, just keep them separate, but when the bias is in the same house. Your comments please.

OK, my first question on yahoo!

I adore my little sister (by one year) but lately she has been getting on my nerves.
Reasons...
1. We were talking this morning and she said she could pretty much get any guy around her age to go out with her...no matter who it is
2. She is planning to ask out my ex today as a "joke"...yesterday she did the same with my older sisters boyfriend......Why does she do this, to boost her ego?
3. Ever since she got this massive tan (KFC original crispy), ha, she like adores herself in the mirror and constantly shows it off...like "check out my tan"
4. I told her, as a JOKE that my stomach was so tight and the guys would love it...her response was calling me aneorexic-misspelled constantly.
5. Three months ago a guy was hitting on me and asked me for my number, with my sister around...the next day I had no school, sis. did and when she came home she had his no. and has been talking to him ever since

she is def. giving me inferiority comp. Thnks
