Family - March 2007

Married Dad who's 13yo daughter the other night sat on the couch and not only proclaimed one of the Idol guys cute [ok by me] but then went on to bounce up-n-down, hoot-n-holler while saying other stuff like "woo baby." She's also been overheard calling a guy a "nice piece of chocolate." Well, my wife semi-regularly says these things and other ribald remarks [jokingly] - has done so for years and it never bothered me until the recent incident. As a guy, I may think similar things about women but I am NOT gonna have my 13yo daughter see/hear me say them. She is maturing and will think those things and a whole lot more which is fine but show a little restraint, make appropriate comments about the opposite sex and realize what you can/should say depending on the company you are in. I'm not a prude - I was a stripper in college - but am I over reacting . . . I really doubt it. What to do? What not to do?

My husband married me when i was pregnant with another man's baby. He knew all about it and we were married later. My daughter was born and i gave her my maiden last name. But my husband wants me to give her our laswt name so we feel like a family. My baby's father hates the idea, and wants her name to stay the same... what do i do?

My story is a bit lengthy but here goes... My husband and I came back to the US and were living (quite wealthy) abroad. But we wanted our family to live here. We came last summer and he enlisted in the military. He has since been in training and I am pregnant again (in my 8th month) and staying with my father and step-mother. We are paying big money to live here and until this point I have managed all the housework and chores as well as my daughter. My husband has only 4 more weeks of training to complete and then we will soon have orders of where we will be stationed. But obviously now I am in a delicate condition and have to be here until delivery. So the situation is that my family is being emotionally abusive to me and they have been clear that they will not assist me with my daughter if I become more ill or on bed rest. I have been having pains and its quite hard to lift my daughter and to care for her myself now. I am so angry with them and I obviously can't move alone now! ?????

I just found out that my dad's cheating on mum..but i'm only graduating in next year and can only take care of my mum then (if we choose to leave).. Everything is in my dad's name..even my mum's salary goes to my dad account.. is it better live with this secret til i graduate or better yet forever?

Our niece is renting a place from us. She paid the first two months rent and utilities, but hasn't paid anything at all for almost 5 months. We have asked her to leave but she hasn't moved out. Problem is, we are FAR away. Don't want to involve the extended family much. Her mom is of the opinion that it's her life and she's an adult. She just turned 23. She keeps down a job, but is obviously a flake. We hear that taking someone to small claims court often winds up in costs and hassles for us and nothing comes of it. Suggestions?

Mine has been against me and the family from day one. She makes statements like if we don't 'behave' as she wants when she has children we won't see them etc. My son's life has been a misery but he sticks by her. We are all broken hearted because now they don't see us and my son says it's easier for him. She has temper tantrums like a child.

I'm just doing this for fun. Anyway I'm half Eastern Asian and half white. He's all white--English, Irish, Portuguese. He's 6'4".

I have brown hair, brown eyes and am 5'5"/5'6" probably closer to 5'5". So yeah, what would it look like if it were a girl or boy?
How tall would it be?

Also his side of the family has some overweight females, whereas mine doesn't. hahah, so what chance our baby would be a lardo?

I am doing a report.
I would like to get examples of discrimination.
I mean:
1 Specifically, what prompted the discrimination (besides you being black)?
2 What was the situation?
3 Where did it happen (city & state)?
4 When did it happen? I am doing a report about RECENT acts, so please do not respond about what happened in the 60s (not that it is not important--please don't misunderstand me--just that my report is about incidences of bigotry AFTER the year 2000.)
5 What did you DO about it? Did you call the police?
If so, what did THEY do about it? Were the parties involved properly prosecuted?
If not, why do you think they were not?
Also, sorry, this report DOES NOT INCLUDE acts of police brutality--again, not that it is not important, just not what this report is about (why? because I am writing about COMING into conflict, not incidents where there is already a conflict, such as an arrest).

my parents are always stressing me out...they never understand me, they would always shout at me and sometimes when my dad gets real pissed he would threaten me to throw me out of the house. all this stress makes it harder for me to do my hw. i try to be nice to them but they're always getting mad even for a simple mistake sometimes. my mom would always but in when i argue to her about why this is happening and she would always take things the wrong way.

He makes you feel overpowered by his opinions. Makes you feel belittled. And won't stop when you ask him too. He then gets angry and blames you and telling you how sensitve you are.. etc. etc. etc.

My horse andie had to be put down last week after a severe injury. He got his hoof caught in the gate on his paddock and struggled all night. When I came out the next day I found him standing in the field on three legs. He ripped his right fore hoof off, we found his hoof later. We had to put him down. Now the problem is he was my 5 yr olds horse. We haven't told her yet that he is dead, we keep telling her he is in the field when we go to the ranch. How can we tell her what happened?

My 93 year old grandmother and I had a fight the other day because she had a problem with my playing with my food (you know the usual stuff....pretending my chicken nuggets were rocket ships and putting my bread in my drink and pretending it was going to drown). She told me to start acting my age and I instinctively fired back, "Why don't you start acting your age." Right after I said that she died.

Here is my deal.. We just started talking to my in-laws again in october aftet a long break. Basically they didn't approve of our relationship, marriage or baby. Now we are moving into out first house and his mom made a comment about it being small. Which it is not. When my husband tried to call her on it, she wouldn't talk to him on the phone saying she can't deal with it. She didn't even get him a chance to say anything.His mother always says rude comments and never appologizes for them. I know everyone in his family is used to it but we are not. My husband wants to completely shut his mother out of our lives since he can't even talk to her. What do you think. do you think it is wrong for us. Knowing that everyone else in his family will turn their backs on us. I have never been accepted and they just pay no attention to me when I am there. They also treat my daughter differently than there other children and I am afraid she will notice soon.

I am 17 and I live in a VERRY VERRY small town. The unemployment rate is almost at the highest it has ever been and because of my age I am not allowed to do most jobs that are open in town. I will NEVER go back to fast food. I am by far to good for that. Also the fast food managers in this town are nasty and mean. I worked at Wendy’s for 9 months, most people last 4 weeks because the management is so bad. And from what every one has told me the only other place in town (McDonalds) is worse. But here is my problem I need at least $1,250 by this summer, and I need $550 by the first of June. I was accepted into a program a Christian camp that cost $750 just to go, and I have another program in 4-H that costs $250 and I need spending money to wash clothes and by food in between. Both programs are around the same time this summer (I have like 2 days in-between). I need to know what I can do for money and fund raising because my family is very poor and I can't drive yet, dad's rules.
HELP!

I think nobody under then SUN likes me. I am not a bad female. I am worried that ppl around me are unhappy abt me. i really need to talk to someone who can really consel me & correct my mistakes. I think I will lose my life if I live in an environment like mine. I request that somebody, a reliable psychatrist or real good person, should help me. Even my husband does not support me anytime. he only wants his prents & always feels his parents are correct always. I am helpless & feel left alone. I have a couple of ppl around me in my office with whom I always interact. They could tell what I am. I was in love with a guy before marriage but for some reasons we did not marry. My son keeps telling me he wants some new clothes and says some of the other kids even give him a hard time, but I don't see anything wrong with the clothes he is currently wearing. I figure if they were good enough for my great-grandfather, my grandpa, my dad, and me, they are certainly good enough for my son.

heres the story, i want to go out and chill with my friends and almost every friday there out gettin high or gettin drunk. I used to go with them but now my mom wants me home every night at 11. she always makes the parents of the house im stayon at to talk to her. but thats not good because i usually sleep in a shed or something. once she let it slide and that same night my mom got a call from the cops and i had a curfew violation. so the trust there went down the toilet. then shes found multiple bongs, pipes, lighters, cigarettes , empty bottles of liquer, rolling papers and once she found my bud. they mde me get a drug test and i passed but also my grades a \re **** compared to the straight A's i used to get, they take me to counseling and i refuse to go , they think im depressed, and they are on first name basis with all of my teachers, emailing everyday.
also im only 15 and i wish i knew how they could trust me.
