my best friend's parents are divorced mainly b.c of the drunk father. Even thought she hates her father b.c he drinks, is it possible that my friend will follow in her dad's footsteps? She has already drank whiskey and i am very worried about her.

What a good friend you are to do this to help her. That is already one advantage that she has. I can tell you care about her. Do you care enough to see that she doesn't head down the wrong road? If your answer is yes, than you have to tell someone that she has done this. the quickest way to solve a problem is not let there be one. Stop it before it starts. She may not understand right away why you told, but she will, but if she doesn't you may loose a friend but you saved a life. Good luck.

don't panic. lots of people have parents who are *drunks* and can still drink without any serious consequences. she may have the gene for alcoholism, but as long as she is careful, it should be ok.

I think your friend will be smarter than that!...My mom drinks real bad, but none of her kids...She has seven of us and we cannt stand it....So thats a choice your friend will need to make...But I think not!

it depends, more studies have been done showing that alcoholism is genetic than showing that its not. Alcoholism is not a disease that should be wished on anyone, you need to research alcoholism.
