I am 17 and I live in a VERRY VERRY small town. The unemployment rate is almost at the highest it has ever been and because of my age I am not allowed to do most jobs that are open in town. I will NEVER go back to fast food. I am by far to good for that. Also the fast food managers in this town are nasty and mean. I worked at Wendy’s for 9 months, most people last 4 weeks because the management is so bad. And from what every one has told me the only other place in town (McDonalds) is worse. But here is my problem I need at least $1,250 by this summer, and I need $550 by the first of June. I was accepted into a program a Christian camp that cost $750 just to go, and I have another program in 4-H that costs $250 and I need spending money to wash clothes and by food in between. Both programs are around the same time this summer (I have like 2 days in-between). I need to know what I can do for money and fund raising because my family is very poor and I can't drive yet, dad's rules.
HELP!

You might team up with someone else who does drive, find a service station that is agreeable and wash, vacuum and wax cars for people. If you do a good job and are reasonable you will have all the business you can handle and may need another helper or two you could put on the payroll.

Desperate times call for desperate measures, take fast food job, it sounds like the only reasonable thing to do for money since you cant have a yard sale. Either that or car washes....

These camps sounds like great programs. But I have to agree with Kevin, if you feel you’re TOO GOOD to work at fast-food (where it sounds like you could get a job), then I have little sympathy for your plight.

Sorry to say but you must not need to money to bad if you are to good to work in a fast food place. Try mowing lawns or offering to clean out peoples garages or something.
