Well next week is my moms bday but i have no idea what to get her she loves candles but she has to many i dont want to get her she also love things that go in the kitchen but then again she has wayyyyy to many im thinking of perfume do you think thats good or a neclace and i have 50$ im willing to spend on my mom because she really deserves it and nooo electronics please

My question is this. I am a "step grandparent". He wanted this baby to call me granny or grandma. That would be great, but I would have had to been like between 11 and 14 just to be this child's grandmother. He said "gram gram" then. Well, my mom is grams, gram, and grammie to her grandchildren, and I didn't think that was right. So, I looked up some "step grandparents nicknames" this is what I came up with CiCi, MiMi, Mima, Meemaw, Memom. I liked MiMi, he didn't, so he said "we'll call you CiCi and when she gets older I'll tell her you own CiCi's pizza" I mean... he is driving me nuts. What are you thoughts?

My father usually "accuses" my mother if my brother does sth wrong. Same thing happened tonight. My brother had stayed too long in front of the pc and my father told my mother to handle the situation.
And then, she started yelling and expressed all those feelings saying she's tired of this situation and asking him to break up with her if he thinks she's insufficient. She started crying and my father didn't seem enough moved. He's a difficult character and doesn't express his feelings easily.
Also my brother now feels responsible and believes that he brings negative feelins to our family.
I really feel awful. I don't know how to deal with each of them. Any suggestion is welcome. Thanks a lot.

I have been dating my boyfriend now for 9 months. He is mexican & i am american. At first my father didn `t know , it was just my mom and she didn`t care. But when my dad found out he got very mad & was telling me i had to break up with him because of a bunch of stupid reasons & he said because he was mexican, once i told him in the bible it doesn`t say you should be racist he shut up ...so my mom got on his side & said i have to break up with him..how can i get them to understand i love him with all my heart & he treats me great.
we are christians i don`t see why they are seeing him as just a mexican..my father looks down on him very badly & is always saying racist slurrs to me..im tired of it i just want them to except him just as god excepts him.

ok this makes no sense she says that mexicans are lazy and dumb but then she married my father who is mexican she is white se says we are fat ok first she weights 220pounds and 5'2 my dad is 6'4 and weights 185 he is the president of the labor working union and she stays home and clean isnt my dad a good example that mexican people are how she claims they are

I am desperate please help. I NEED KICK MY SIS IN LAW OUT OF MY HOME WITHOUT GETTING MY HUSBAND INVOLVED.. I NEED TIPS to do that.I have had an arranged marriage and am married for 3 years, my husband is from india and i live in US. he come here with me after marriage and my sis followed in 2 years,and lived in nyc, she is here on student visa, pretending to be studying (she keeps on failing her pharmacy exam).My husband moved to NY last year and so we got a two bedroom apartment so she can save some money, I could not move here since i was looking for a job. Now i am here since since Dec and after living with her for 4 months now i cannot stand her.she was never on my good side. i think she is too fake nice to me as she needs me, she always tries to over do me and compare and this stuff really bothers, now her BF has moved in withus we did charge him nething has my hubby is lookin out for her sis. i just want them both out after the weddn june, without letting my husband know aboutit

actually all 3 of my sister inlaws a serious psychos how do i deal with them? my husband has told me in the begining that he wants all us to be best friends but that wasnt possible due to his sisters strange rude way of acting towards me for exp: older sis always mentioned his name when calling us. she spoke to others about me indirectly to my face(like disses)..and when i greeted her with a hello she was like yeah yeah hello when i said bye she was like why u telling me bye go i dont care..i stayed quiet cuz i was new,then she took us out to dinner(her brother but ofcourse he took me)when he went to get the car she attacked me by saying who do u think u r and i was shocked shes a b**, she seemed to have gassed her sis(who wasnt married living at home)about me so that sis outa nowhere started being so rude like slamming doors when i pass by the hall.says insults about me when passing

I don't exactly know where to put this question...

I am adopted, and I am SOO happy that I have been and all. I'm so grateful and stuff, I have friends who don't care that I'm adopted or anything. I'm korean adopted into caucasian parents.

Though I have had a couple experiences of people who seem to not like me or something after they find out I'm adopted. Someone called me a freak or something recently and it made me wonder about this...

Hello I am a 26 year old woman from Tennessee.There is a family at a school I work by.I see the child sometimes.I talked to him once.He is 5 years old.He seems without emotion.The other children at the school hit him with books and call him **** but he just stares with no emotion.He has several scars on his arms and is missing a finger.I asked the parents about this and they said he is adopted and he had those scars before they got him.but I think they are abusing him.What should I do?I don't want them to know that I told anyone

My Granny died last night. She raised me as a child and was basically my mother. I loved her so much. My heart is broken. I feel very strongly about wearing black to mourn for her, but what is the respectable amount of time to dress in black? My mother-in-law is a manipulative, lying, bossy cow. She comes into our lives and causes trouble. When someone tells her off she pulls out of our lives, making out she is the victim. When all has calmed down she comes back into our lives again, makes trouble them disapears. I have tried continously to get her out for good, but she keeps coming back whether u like it or not. My husband has even told her to get/butt out. She has called the police on us many of times saying we wont let her see her grandkids, she tells me one thing and my husband another, when we confront her she makes up another totally different story and calls us liars.
What can i do? should i take out an intervention order?

she is REALLY GETTING ON MY NERVES!!! we only have one income coming in. our infant daughter is disabled and im a full time college student so money is really tight. i also have to take care of bills i had before i was pregnant, such as my car note, insurance, and my credit card. she told me that me and my boyfriend are not a family because we aren't married, so she feels that her son should give her money whenever she asks for it. i take care of our finances, so if i say we dont have it, we dont. we have a little bit in our savings, but we are slowly having to go in there and use it because it's hard living on one income. my daughter gets a disability check, but it aint much. do y'all think im being mean to tell her to leave us alone about money? my boyfriend gave her 500 dollars when he did his taxes less than two months ago.

Okay, my sister in law has, time and time again, screwed my brother over. She has put him $25,000 in debt, totalled his car, and put their very lives, along with my 14 month old nephew's life in jeopardy for drugs. She has gone to rehab 4 times and is still using drugs.. my brother is like blind to it. She has also stolen from me and my boyfriend when we tried to help her when she was homeless. Now, again, my brother has taken her back.. and I'm the only one in my family that knows.. I want to say something and let him know really how I feel.. but I can't stop seeing my nephew.. that would kill me. Any suggestions?

Hey, my name is Leslie, I'm 17, and in my family, i'm the main babysitter (i have an older brother, and 14 little sibs, it's a long story). i get almost no time to myself. i started going to a church youth group every wednesday night (mom and dad and big bro jason -19 work wed. nights), and my bro derek (16) and my sis's Bridget (15)and Jaymee (14)watch the kids (they're fine with me taking one night out of the week for myself). the problem is the other 11 kids (10 mo., and from 6-12) won't listen to them at all. and when i get home the house is a mess, and everything is out of control, but everybody listens to me just fine. how can i get them to listen to Derek, Bri, and Jaymee. we've tried everything, from telling mom and dad to punishing them ,nothing works, if i have to stay home and watch them i will, but i don't think one night a week for me to be by myself is asking too much. am i being selfish? i love my sibs, all of them , but they can be too much sometimes. what do i do?

I have a younger brother who is 26 and he drinks pretty much everyday. And on the weekends he tends to get drunk most of the time. I have told him several times he should calm his drinking but he doesn't listen and he does not realize that he has turned into a drunk. I have no idea how to help him.

Any Ideas?
