idk, maybe something went wrong at work. Tell her ur worried about her and if she doesnt stop crying ur going to call 911, maybe that will sorta jolt her out of her daze. I tried it once with my mom. it worked, but dont really call 911, unless it gets really serius

I've had similar problems before. Keep asking in a very compassionate tone: "Please mom, tell me what's wrong." Show concern on your face. Be sincere, and don't let her be alone. Who knows what she is going through, but whatever it is, as a loved one, you should be able to hear her, no matter what the subject is. You might want to tell her this last bit too, it might indear her to the idea of telling you the problem.
A lot of times, mom's need more help than anybody else, because they are the lonliest. They're mom. They have to carry a lot of weight on those shoulders, and most of the time, it is with limited or no help.
Let her know that you can be her rock to lean on, and that you have a shoulder to cry on. Don't offer to help fix the problem, just ask what is wrong, and listen to her as long as it takes to get her to stop crying.
Most importantly, let her know how much you love her and how important she is to you. No matter what the problem is, this always helps.
Tell us how it turns out!

it is so lovely that you are so concerned about you mother .we asians think that english people dont care about thier parents.but i tell you even asian mothers some times become so stubborn . any how you can not predict human nature all that matters is the concern we have for each other if some one wants to share it ok "at thier service" and if they want to be on thier own thats ok too

Leave her alone she will stop and you tell what the problem is. I got like that once and that's when my husband told me is was moving out.Hope it isn't that because nothing you can do for her but be there and no matter what she says take her side. Good luck!

Give your mom a little time. Be patient. When she is calm, let her know you love her and are concerned. Ask if she would talk to you about it. If she says no, then you must accept that answer. It may be very private to her.

let her calm down and pull herself together and just be patient and wait until she's ready to talk.
